The Seminole and Seneca seem somewhat similar in performance.

The Seneca is 50 knots faster.. 😉

I got the Seminole as it's similar to the Beechcraft Duchess I did my multi engine training in back in the early 2000's. It's still a popular choice at flight schools so might be a good choice if that's the route you are taking

And currently in MSFS the Bonanza with the Robert Young Turbo mod.  As fast as the twins mentioned on much less fuel and with essentially the same or better systems (WT G1000 NXi).  What is there not to love?  (as of this date)

I don't love having to keep changing the fuel selector haha! Just about the only downside!

Bert. What is typical cruise IAS at 10,000?

Normal cruise is listed at 200 knots.

That's KTAS though.  The Seneca gets it's speed higher up.  Pipe in some O2 and your into the lower flight levels.

The normally aspirated baron in the sim is fastest around 7000.  The DA62 around 14000 and the Seneca being turbocharged, around 20000 or so.  They all true out around 200 ktas.  Wimpy haha

I bought the Seneca yesterday.

The NAV on the Autopilot cant fly a VOR course and intercept the needle, is that right? When ever i enabled NAV (with a tuned VOR of course) the plane started swinging faaaaar right then faaaaar left and so on. HDG works flawless. But NAV?

That may not be the Seneca.  There seem to be issues with the default flight plans and the autopilot lately where the entirely wrong leg is selected.

Could somebody reproduce that behaviour in the Seneca?

A VOR, a course and then let the AP intercept and follow it with the NAV function. No matter what intercept angle.

I thought I could get past it, the craft is fun to fly…but my goodness that pad is horrible imo…Again, not Carenados fault at all.

If they had a toggle switch so that the deice contraption could be optional, that would be great.

OK I bought the Seneca and I love it. There are a few quirky Carenado bugs but, all in all, a very pleasant experience.

BUT, can anyone walk me through a VS climb?? Whenever I engage the AP it noses down to level or a descent, THEN goes to the VS I have selected. I've tried presetting the climb VS to the same as my climb rate then engaging but no joy. It always dives down then comes back to the selected VS and holds it fine. But man it is a whiplash ride for a minute!

What is the best practice for climbing on AP other than just hand flying until you get to altitude then engaging ALT?

With the GTN750 I am really enjoying this one!

The Seneca should have the same autopilot as the Seminole, which I fly.  What I do is set the VS I want, prior to engaging  the AP on toggle switch. Hit VS, turn the knob to get the rate you want, I use around 1,000 fpm ascending, and then climbing away from the airport, I engage the AP toggle switch, and it climbs at 1,000 fpm.

Yes the VS in climb is borked, that's the kind of annoying things that happen with Carenado.

I am not sure why you encountered this problem because I have just flown EGBE to EBOS on AP using NAV following VOR stations and did an ILS landing, everything worked as it should. I have only owned the Seneca a few days and am very pleased with it.
