Let the record show that PlumCrazy has never disabled any addons when doing an update, and he has 300 GB in his Community folder.

Since he has never experienced any issues while updating, this proves it's safe to make no preparations - despite many people having issues with updates, and that Microsoft / Asobo recommends renaming or cleaning out Community folder before updating.

Good for you 👍

... I also flew quite a lot today, because the sim might be broken tomorrow.

You can continue to rename/clean out your Community folder all you want in preparation for the update.  It certainly will not hurt anything and takes very little time/effort.  But eventually you will most likely put those community folder mods back in place and at that time you will find out which mods became incompatible due to the update.  But it is fact, not opinion that (at least to this point) MSFS updates do not touch the Community folder.  If you have evidence to the contrary, I would love to hear it.

I don't blame Asobo for recommending that people clear out their Community folder before/after sim updates though.  I am sure they get sick of answering to users claiming their sim is broken when in fact the issue(s) are related to incompatible 3rd party mods.

Glad you got in some flight time yesterday!  I think we both worry how much might be broken after this upcoming update gets applied.  The memories of SU5 are still all too fresh in our minds Lol

One does not simply walk into a sim update!...

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

I hope everyone's ready to complain that issues which were never slated to be fixed have indeed not been fixed!😇

If I remember correctly, very few of the issues I was seeing were due to be fixed.

I've never done anything w/ the CF prior to updates and have yet to have a single issue w/ any update, all done thru the MS Store.

WorkingTitle have said there will be a new version of their G1000 NXi at the same time SU6 releases, so check your content manager for the new version probably today.

and those who can't wait another 15 minutes until SU6 release: everything you always wanted to know about SU6 compatibility head over to Microsoft feedback hub and enter "SU6 beta" in the search box for messages and beta tester feedback, its all public.
