AIG AI Manager OCI for MSFS - quick first steps (video)

The pdf Is a process that seems extensive.

hello @andrevieira

the AIC-OCI official documents are always the real reference you can refer to for help.

the idea of this simplistic video was just help those who never used AIG products and want a quick start without messing around with the more complex options.

When it comes out (in a few days we hope but i really have no clue), there will probably be no video available, a lot of people will install it and they will just have that pdf that can look a bit intimidating for beginners. With this video, no matter how simplistic it is, just by looking at it and pausing at each click and then repeating on their machine, they should have a working install in a few minutes. That's really the only reason why i posted this video, to show that it's fairly simple because i read some comment in the other thread when the doc was released that it looked complicated (you also said in your post 'seems extensive'). I'm also one of those who has difficulty with reading manuals, i prefer just watching and repeating what i see (yeah the current generation favors minimal brain activity when learning something new, at least i speak for myself 😁😁)

As is said earlier in one of my post, some time is cut in the video (program loading, time it takes to install the flightplans, ..) but other than that if you repeat each click i made you should be up and running in a few minutes with your first AIG flighplan.

I'm sure, in no time after release, there will be very nice videos on Youtube showing how to proceed with voice and special effects, when those are available obviously this video won't be needed anymore and will look pale in comparison.

🍻

(Word not allowed)!  I saw this thread and thought "they must have just released it!"  Oh, well... 🤷‍♂️

oooops sorry @JDWalley 😜, every hints given by Kai seem to indicate 'very soon' but i honestly have no idea.

@Bad_T

You are a GODSEND to the Flight Sim Community. First your BRILLIANT Addon Linker, and now your altruistic attempt to integrate something SO VITAL and lacking in the the base sim...

THANK-YOU!

If you look at the video and complement by reading the PDF document you'll find the process is relatively easy.

Yes. Looks simple.

But it doesn't say what programs/files are needed to install. Or just we need the 2 .exe’s AIG and AIG TC?

Yes, the two executables. I remember it from P3D, and once the beta for MSFS is released I'm sure it'll be explained by AIG.

The one thing I can see getting hung up on is how to deal with a previous installation for P3D.

I haven't touched P3D in quite a while, but everything is still installed. I've considered just uninstalling OCI, Uninstalling OCI and P3D, or wiping my system and starting fresh with only MSFS and OCI.

What is the the easiest way to get a clean install? Not sure how difficult it is to completely remove P3D w/o a new windows install.

Thanks!

I ask because on AIG Forum, i saw a PDF with instructions to install AIG AI Traffic Manual Installation kit, and is complex… say to install tool MSFS LayoutGenerator, package PlaneConverter and more contents…

You only need those two programs, if... you want to contribute models and plans to the project. They are not needed for actually using what is provided by AIG,

I don't think you will have to worry about this.

As you probably already know, MSFS only use the 'Community' folder to store addons, all files used by AIG Manager and Traffic controller will be in a single subfolders inside you community folder and they will in no way interfere with your p3d files that are store completely elsewhere because p3d uses a complete different method and structure for its files.

The AIG tools are be compatible with both simulators within the same EXE so you will be able to choose the one you like when starting (or using a different shortcut with a parameter inside).

just downloaded and installed. One question regarding selecting the flightplans to be installed: Isn't it possible to select all of them with one click ?

I believe that clicking one flightplan and then hitting CTRL-A will do it.

AIG and AIG TC both installed.

When adding Flightplans + Airlines it downloads and installs but not all aircraft. Like Martinair. No ac installed .Flightplan Viewer says on all 3 aircraft : NO MODEL.

Help is appriciated...
