Aerosoft Simple Traffic is out

Online traffic most of the time, I see empty skies.

It seems to depend on the location. Also Live traffic only spawns within 20-30NM of the user. While offline is around 90.

It's not a lot. Not as much as you'd get with offline but

That's because there are no flights at that time in real life. You can check that with FlightRadar24. I see the same planes in the sim that I see in FlightRadar. Just with some minutes delay.

If you use offline traffic you are getting tons of flights that are inexistent right now in real life. Some people prefer that, some prefer to see the real flights.

had that with online as well

I usually check them in Littlenavmap and when using online real time I see the planes approaching at normal altitudes and descending. When using offline I see them approaching at 2000ft from 30 or more miles away. Sometimes even climbing from 800 to 2000ft with ATC nagging them to climb to 2000ft, lol. Never seen that with real time traffic.

Also, with real time they usually land on the correct runway according to the METAR. With offline they almost always land on the wrong runways.

The problem with real time is there are no sleeping planes at the airports, because it is based on FlightRadar. That's why some disappear when they land also.

I'm on the fence about using either one and might stay that way. I must have static GA aircraft at smaller airports as I do a lot of my flying into those, as well as major airports. While I would like to see real life liveries on aircraft, I'm not giving up my GA aircraft. It would be too much. I would stick with the current default method instead, including its flaws, as I have AI aircraft everywhere.

Thanks!

Simple Traffic is just the same as default with real liveries, I use Live Traffic with same settings I always had (Ground Density at 30), and I have GA at smaller airports, the only price to pay for that is some odd liveries at international airports that not belong in that area, but that is a small price to pay.

The reason is that there are only A330. Where are the A320? nothing. Aerosoft could have added AI models, it's not hard to do. What surprised me was to see all these planes flying low over airports.

Aerosoft made it clear from the get go that they were not adding any models, only using the stock ones. This is not a $40 and up AI package and was never intended to be one.

As for the low flying planes, that's all on Asobo and not Aerosoft.

I have everything set up just the way page 6 of the manual states. I have originated flights at KCLT, KJFK and KSFO.

In each case I am the only plane on the airport.

What am I doing wrong?

Live AI mode, or Offline AI mode?

Real time online mode pipes in live data from FlightAware, but MS throttle the data feed a lot, so quite often there are hardly any AI planes visible in that mode.

I get much better results with Offline AI mode - give that a try.

The main problem I have with Live AI , is many airports there is zero traffic for miles and miles. Try flying in Norway for instance, it is a ghost town.

No. 1 on the troubleshooting list is - Install Simple Traffic

2. Start MSFS

3. Set sliders as per Page 6.  Someone said it should include turn OFF Online here and Turn On real world traffic on a different page. One or the other but not both at the same time.

4. Restart MSFS

When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

Senior Moment.  All working fine now.  It said to set Ground Aircraft Density to 0.  I set AI Aircraft Traffic Density to 0.

Thanks,

Roy

Easily done. I find around 30% AI Aircraft Traffic Density still gives me shedloads of planes and doesn't hit FPS too much

I ran then installer and I wasn't sure, So  I installed again.

There no folder in the Community!

Should I start Fsim?

Doh! I didn't install.. Its an all new Installer!
