November 20, 20214 yr Man, Asobo and Microsoft are killing it. Love the new weather depiction. Sure, it needs some ironing out. But that will come. Removed a couple of mods that seem to cause issues, and all is well. No loss in frame rates.
November 20, 20214 yr I agree, aside from various settings changed, once I got them back to what I had before, SU7 with DX12 is a welcome new tech. 30fps locked, yes there are minor stutters while panning, these issues are to be expected, so I have no problem waiting for Asobo to iron things out. November 20, 20214 yr Meanwhile there is another camp that is not happy with the new weather system I feel sorry for Asobo have to please everyone (personally I am happy with the new system as well) 😕 AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000MHZ RAM, RX7900XT, FreeSync 165hz 1440p display
November 20, 20214 yr They broke TrackIR with this update so I have to disagree. Unflyable for me now.
November 20, 20214 yr There is Haze everywhere, since SU7. Every approach is IFR only. I love flying IFR, but it is nice to see scenery on approach if weather is VFR, can't do that anymore.
November 20, 20214 yr Broken TIR, broken weather depiction, problems with certain control input and two novelty features that aren't ready for the public. Honestly, I'm not too bothered by the above but praising this clearly rushed update that had testing cut short as a 'winner' and say they are 'killing it' sets a bad precedent for the future. I'd hate to see what a 'bad' update would be like then. November 20, 20214 yr Another winner.. Once you eliminate changing your options back to some random dungeons and dragons dice game setting and have to learn how to play the simulator all over again. It's like Asobo coded a random options, keybind, and control keys generator into the simulator update. Up = Down? Nope. This time Up = Carb heat.. Good luck kids (sarcastic example).. BTW we aren't documenting any of this.. November 20, 20214 yr What I can't figure out, is the logic they used to put things in the update. For instance, lets take Track IR. It was working correctly for everyone , no problem. Then they decided to program into it somehow, that when the camera loses focus, it shuts Track IR off in the camera menu, requiring the pilot to go into the camera menu and restart Track IR. Not only that, if you use the F9 pause key which is useful for freezing the motion, so you can adjust a control or setting in the cockpit, now that also turns off Track IR requiring a restart. How did this make sense to anyone at Asobo????? What's next, have the yoke or joystick disconnect when you fly over an airport???🤓 Edited November 20, 20214 yr by Bobsk8

I think that they are stuck with deadlines and have to get it out the door no matter what. This has been true since before the initial release and has continued. Bugs are one thing but continually breaking things that were working is quite another. Rick Abshier 5900X | RTX 5070 Ti OC| 64 GB@3600 | India Pale Ale

There was no way to properly recenter. That's what they added with the "toggle head tracking" function, however unfortunately they decided that that should happen also automatically once trackir doesn't detect any movement anymore. The former is a good, optional addition, the latter a weird design decision (or just a bug, never know). It is another prove of their insufficient testing procedures. No one with trackir that tested this would have approved it as it is, since it is not yet any improvement. To re-center all one had to do was hit the F12 Key after taking it out of pause ( I have a joystick button that does that) . No need to turn track IR off. My guess , is no one at Asobo uses Track IR.

A year in, and they’re letting down the rest of the team…
November 20, 20214 yr I'd say if they bring a hotfix for trackir, cloud altitude and haze, it's a clear winner. To be frank any MSFS-update that doesn't make it impossible to fly is a winner in my book... For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord.
