SU 7 Is Another Winner

Guess you don't fly in the Midwest, USA . Haze with an RVR of 5,000 feet  or less on a clear weather day with dew point spread of 25 degrees or more is not normal by any stretch.

I just did a test flight out of Vegas, and the haze seems to have to do with sun refraction. If you look downwind of the sun's position, you can see for miles (i'd take a screenshot, but using HDR it's kind of pointless). If you look in the direction of the sun, the haze is much more prominent. Flying at night, the haze seems to be nonexistent.

Before it was the case that when you paused trackir the view will remain as it was, therefore possibly not straight. There was no way to properly recenter. That's what they added with the "toggle head tracking" function, however unfortunately they decided that that should happen also automatically once trackir doesn't detect any movement anymore. The former is a good, optional addition, the latter a weird design decision (or just a bug, never know).
It is another prove of their insufficient testing procedures. No one with trackir that tested this would have approved it as it is, since it is not yet any improvement.

Just click F12 and it recenters.

Also, the thread is not going downhill just because some people disagree with other people.  It only goes downhill when people resort to personal attacks etc.  Be able to disagree with someone and respect their point of view, even if it differs with yours.  That's life.

Really, you pull that sad card thinking criticism in a thread about feedback of a patch isn't warranted? Jeez.

We're not derailing the thread.  Someone said "wow this SU is perfect me" or along those lines.  Some of us disagree and stated why.  We didn't attack anyone, we didn't change the subject.  Subject is SU7.  Some people have different opinions about the subject....and have continued to discuss the subject.

Differing opinions are not welcome on avsim. Debate is something that is alien to a lot of folks here. It’s their way or the Highway.

Well back on topic then...they were able to deliver a pretty huge DLC which works for the most part and is actually quite fun - you can tell most of the team's focus was on this piece. Lots of aircraft, really decent multiplayer netcode (was a blast flying around Tokyo yesterday in a formation of F18s!), the update / download process was fairly quick and painless, and some new "experimental" features for us to complain about. 🤷‍♂️

The subject was "SU7 is another winner" The subject is now about how bad it is.

Few if any who agreed with the the original title will bother to contribute at this point, as the thread has now been turned into a carbon copy of multiple already existing negative threads.

This is a positive of the SU I agree.  I think I also noticed headlights and taillights from vehicles on the roads...  has anyone seen that?

Positive: Awesome

Negative: Even FSX had those.

Some keep saying "haze everywhere" has if saying it many times would make it true. No, it's not everywhere, it's in the US and caused by the 10SM visibility limit bug that existed in other simulators too and will be fixed (preferably soon). I don't fly in the US and didn't see any haze yet.  So, what about stopping beating that dead horse and wait for the fix?

I just saw haze in France, so it isn't just the US. LFRQ to LFRG, couldn't see more than 1/2 way down the runway on takeoff.

That's normal haze, not caused by the 10SM bug.

So you don't want haze anywhere even if it exists in real life? Guess you'll have to use custom weather then.

I agree....this update is very experimental.  Vis 10 everywhere where metars say 10SM - XP had this issue at first so I understand Asobo is working at it and I appreciate that.  For now it's no Track IR and clear skies flying only.

Not great at the moment, but to be fair that is the joy of forced updates.

Imagine if p3d went to 5.3 and it was forced.....

Still looks and runs great in DX11 for me, hopefully get a hotfix for some of the issues.
