PMDG vs FENIX team...

Maybe PMDG can learn a thing or two from the guys at Fenix......

But Fenix said they don't plan to release the Fenix A320 for the X-Box.  The assumption is, running an external process using Pro Sim is probably the main reason why they can't release their Fenix A320 for the X-Box.

I believe PMDG has said they plan to bring their whole lineup, the 737,777, 747, etc, to the X-Box.  And I believe PMDG can bring their lineup to the X-Box because they aren't doing what Fenix is doing, and instead using more of the MSFS SDK than Fenix is.

So I think it's a matter of business priorities. I'm sure PMDG knows that they can do what Fenix is doing.  But PMDG would like the extra sales from X-Box so they aren't doing what Fenix is doing.

Maybe... maybe not... what's certain is that either way, it's still an Airbus.   😁

I for one wish the XP Zibo 737 be available for this platform, this is the only addon that sends me back to XP every once in a while, its amazing, really love to fly that bird.

PMDG are trying to understandably use most of their c++ code base that they have evolved over the years.  Aerosoft did the same with their crj, however it is nowhere near the level of complexity of a pmdg bird.  New developers like fenix that are just starting out with msfs can use the native msfs html (or whatever it is) code that has better support at this time.  Not to mention the debugging tools that pmdg use are not yet supported.  They are a large team and dont want to rewrite the way they do things completely at this point so they are hoping asobo will accommodate them and provide support for certain things they were supposedly promised.  And I really do understand pmdg's frustration with the constant forced updates that seem to break more than they fix.  I love the new sim dont get me wrong, so much so that ive deleted p3d and the 1 tb of addons I had for it.  But the whole weather fiasco and all of the other issues with this last update was ridiculous, there's no way that update should have been pushed in the state it was in.

Hello, there is only one thing that puzzles me, why only PMDG constantly complains about problems, when, for example, Fenix team and its A320 informs us in subsequent updates and there is not a single word that something does not suit them, that Asobo is to blame, etc. etc., more! how will you see on their discord video - they even managed to handle the windshield wipers and the rain themselves !!! .... can someone explain it to me? 🙂 🙂

btw - Fenix a320 - will blow away all and any A320 sim on any platform to date..

Reading that flying the PMDG DC-6  🤣

Opposing a developer with a proven record of delivering top-tier aircraft for twenty odd years including in MSFS and a new comer who has released nothing yet but shown shots and videos...

The thirst to believe...

Reading all this, this comes to mind:

Two things happening here. PMDG dont want to rewrite everything again like AS did not do with the CRJ. = Problems

Fenix is using ProSim, there are no question at how good ProSim is, Fenix are linking ProSim into MSFS with a model. Useing nothing but the method that MSFS whats to use.

Just becasue Fenix is a new  name, dismissing them is a bit short sighted imo. I truely believe we will see a new standard we could only have dreamed of, just like MSFS itself.

I prefer the way PMDG is (allegedly) doing it. Having lots, if not most of stuff running externally reminds me very much of the Flight Factor A320 in XP. They did even the sound externally. So there is no sound in replay mode because the external logic can't do it.

Also I think it's good generally if 3PDs speak freely (which RSR doesn't, obviously) about issues that Asobo needs to fix so that we know who to push. But still PMDG needs to deliver and stop moaning. Yesterday 😄

Nobody dismisses anybody David except the OP dismissing rather ludicrously PMDG.

The issue with Fenix is not that they are a new name, it is that we cannot judge a product that has not been released. You know like me that this hobby is not short of hyped train wrecks from time to time...

Dismissing PMDG is very silly.

Since I flown 10x more the A320 FSL than anything else, watching the Fenix vid's shows be that what ProSim is all about, its not Fenix doing all the programing I dont know how much they add but tieing everything that ProSim does with the model we can see and my money is on this is no train wrecks..unless it runs at 8 fps at EGLL. 😉 but even that is not going to be true becasue ProSim runs out side the sim.

I would bet a lot this is the "real thing" 🙂 Its also built from the ground up for MSFS, PMDG are making there aircraft fit into the sim, using diffrent code to what MSFS wants. Its ground braking imo 🙂

Time will tell 🙂

Even after the launch of the DC-6, I feel that MSFS will not be taken seriously by some of the XPlane / P3D crew until either the Fenix A320 or PDMG B737 are launched and largely functional in the sim.  Although Asobo have a big part to play in this as well.

I remember when Airsimmer was going to topple PMDG in the high fidelity market.

Time will tell, indeed.

I'd never heard of ProSim until news of the Fenix project. And looking at the license costs of ProSim, I have to wonder how much this MSFS aircraft will cost.

I wish Fenix good luck. However, it's a very long road from interesting videos to a released, working project.

PDMG have a solid track record with proven products. This rivalry drama is silly and so what PDMG devs are vocal about shortcomings with SDKs. AVSIM users cry, moan and throw tantrums every SU/WU as simple consumers.😏
