PMDG Update [05FEB22]

Did PMDG provide a feature to feature compare MSFS vs P3D ... I haven't really seen anything specific in terms of a feature compare list.  I'd like to know if there is anything in the MSFS version that isn't in the P3D version that adds value?

Normally when development enters Beta features are locked so was hoping we'd see a list.

Cheers, Rob.

It isn't P3D..already a value add right there..

Wondering if the NG3 will have the same lackluster LNAV performance and Navdata encoding (i.e. not possible to fly/draw a radius-to-fix leg) as the NGXu...

I think there is going to be a big difference between the two versions. They probably won’t tell us what they’re either.

Well, if they convinced us to believe that P3D 737 simulation is 1:1 realistic then we'll get same features.

After all we're talking simulation of the very same airplane, right? They do not include laser guns or third engine I bet.

They said they're going to release a list of features. Even if they don't, we'll see when it's released anyway.

That said, they hinted at small differences in the available config options. That might also just be temporary.

I wonder if part of the holdup is the FPS issue, that they have with the DC6. PMDG said that Asobo did something on one of the update betas that improved the FPS performance of the DC6 drastically and then never implemented in in the final release. The 737 being a bit more complex than the DC6  might be running into the same issue.

Thanks.  Hopefully RR will bring some meat to the table in his next update.  Not really interested in re-buying what I already have.

Cheers, Rob.

Yeah, same here.  If it's not RNP, I might actually sit this one out, which would be a first for me...or at least wait until it is (if it isn't).

What features do you want to see?

FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠

I wonder if we can get them to schedule another lockdown right after all of them are released?

I could never have cared less about a lockdown than after the release of iniBuilds A310!

LoL true. I am actually more excited for iniBuilds A310 than PMDG or Fenix. I own inibuilds A300 in XP11 and I must say, it is really a very very good high fidelity airliner and I expect their A310 in MSFS to maintain the same if maybe better quality than their A310/A300 in XP11.

I think it's a very smart move from iniBuilds to develop the A310 for MSFS instead of the A300.
With the A310 you can fly to smaller airports and much longer routes compared to the A300.

As an European based sim pilot, you can perfectly reach the US, the Caribbean, every City in Africa, the Maldives, La Reunion, Mauritius, Seychelles, China, all of Russia and you can land and depart at smaller fields like Innsbruck, Malmö, Molde, Visby, Paderborn, Biarritz, Santiago, Tivat, Mykonos, Samos and the likes too with just one aircraft type!

I’m also more excited for the A310. I’m still more than content with p3d ngxu. But the a310 represents new blood to me. A new type to tackle

And you won’t be disappointed. IniBuilds considered to be a top add-on with their products on XP and I am pretty sure they will maintain the same standards on MSFS.

Pretty sure it won't be out of the box.

It will probably come with the LNAV update they're adding to everything else they make

Its really surprising that PMDG are considered "the best" in the business but they still can't fly curved approaches, which has been around the real airplanes for like 15 years at this point.

They should have made these changes a long long time ago.

I can't imagine them revamping LNAV and not being able to support RF legs.  That seems like kind of a waste to me.  Let's hope that isn't the case.

They're revamping LNAV and they've said it will include RF legs. What I am saying is that it wont come with the initial version of the NG3 for MSFS.

RR hinted at MSFS features but hasn't specified anything.

Also, you don't have to pay ridiculous money for the whole 737 package this time.  I believe you can just buy the type variation you want (737-800) and leave the other variations which is a much better pricing model.  I think it's roughly $40 for each (?)    Cleverly, he's releasing the -700 first,  knowing that no-one really flies the -700,  but will be falling over themselves just to fly the 737 and consequently throw money at it.    I will not be doing that.
