Please keep lobbying Carenado!  They have not yet committed to adapting the Mooney etc..

Hi Bert, I sent a request to Carenado last Saturday to do this. They responded and said they would look into it. On another note I'm getting alot of lag with the integrated GTN750 using the Turbo Arrow. This has been mentioned on the TDS forums. Any one else seeing this problem?

Thanks!  As for the Arrow, no, I am not seeing this..

Another question: Is it possible that the VC Integration Mod by Laurinius doesn't work anymore in the Mooney? Can't get it to display, somehow.

Why would you use a non interactive GTN in the VC?

Some simple panel editing will put the real gauge in the panel.

Having said that, the PMS50 has a glidepath indicator that works.. so for the Mooney, that may actually be the better option (for now).

Hello 🍺

weekend again, time for some flightsim testing (usually ends up in head-scratching-brain-hurting though 😱🤪), i wanted to try the TDS with JF Turbo Arrow (full integrated mode), unfortunately i don't see that option anywhere. I guess it's on the tablet where you can switch from different GPS configurations but i don't see the TDS GTN750 there. Am i just out of luck because i bought it from the 'in game marketplace' and there it doesn't get updated ?

In my content manager it shows version 0.5.4 so i was confident that i had the latest version (strange thing is that that number seems higher than what i see in the JF forum where it says that latest is 0.5.3 🙃).  Oh well must be me doing something wrong ..... if someone has an idea 👍

Thank you. 🍻

The tablet now has some six different choices, with two GTN choices in the list... PMS50 and TDS.

Bert

Does the TDS GTN units look better in the Justsim planes than the PMS ones?

Thank you for your reply Bert but unfortunately I don't see that 🙈, i have only the following options : GNS 530 / GPS100 / GNS DUAL /  (and the PMS GTN750 if i install the PMS mod)

can anyone who has bought it from the marketplace (i think most of you have bought it directly from JF) confirm that the TDS GTN is available for him ? If it's not in the marketplace version, at least i know i can stop searching for a non existant solution and i would learn to better listen to those who often say to not buy things from the marketplace but directly from the developper 😁.

** edit ** just noticed in the official TDS forum someone who asked the same question yesterday, so yeah i guess it's probably due to the marketplace 😥, but well it's probably gonna be fixed sooner or later hopefully (still would be interesting to know if someone has the marketplace version and it works for him already), in the meantime i should probably just try to learn the plane without GPS 😁

MarketPlace is not showing a version history so I'm guessing they are still selling v0.5.1, which doesn't integrate the TDS GTNxi into the front panel.

Yep, in most cases it's best to purchase directly from the developer.

It often takes a couple of weeks for the Marketplace to post an update..

I had the same issue and the reason was I wasn't on the latest version.

I didn't buy it from the marketplace, so I was able to get the latest from TDS.

As was said -- marketplace may take a while to get the latest version.

What systems are you referring to?  The Turbo Arrow is fully integrated as best I can tell, and the user mods for Carenado are focused on exactly that.

There are a few Sim Vars that are Write only.. however Momo has commented that those are being worked on by Asobo now...  those would allow the GPS system to  write to the GP Vertical Angle Error and GP Vertical Error.  That is what you want the GTN writing too as that will take care of the Flags and Needles downstream of it on every indicator type.

Now that does move to give us what we need to replicate to the User what it does and should look like...

Now the reality is that this all started in SU5 when WT started to decouple the Sim Vars for AP Modes and the AP it's self...  However it is still a function of putting the AP under the hood into a Pitch and Roll Mode using the added simvar for Managed Avionics.  In a way this is kind of "backwards" in that now you are driving the Flight Director via the AP...  Does it matter to the user? well probably not.  However it is not the same as having direct control over the PIDs and driving it from the "proper" direction of the FD driving the AP...

I am not sure most people could be able to tell the difference though...  If we do our own gauges and modifications yes we can use the LVARs... however if what Momo wrote on PMS discord is correct and they will make those variables writeable then all AC and Indicators will be able to be used with the "external" units even if there is no VC version...

That would be great, and put an end to my misery of trying to convince my Carenado airplanes to use the LVARs.. which they are reluctant to do.  If anyone has the technical smarts to help me with this... please send me a PM 😉

Is it possible to integrate the TDS 750 into a Carenado aircraft *without* Carenado changing something on their end?

For the C337, I figured it out... but my other efforts are stalled. Hence my appeal for help..

To clarify, you can place the GTN into the VC by editing the panel.cfg file.

However, getting it to control the HSI needles and flags is the challenge, since most of the required files are encrypted and hence cannot be changed by the user.

Bert

Could you post the panel.cfg with the integrated gauge? Is it clickable in the panel?
