April 8, 20224 yr That "Captains" (*) part always makes me "vibrate" ... but then, after recovering from the effect... I read along and usually like what he has to say 🙂 (*) Curiously someone from a software house that creates for X-Plane has recently adopted the same interjection 🙂 Edited April 8, 20224 yr by jcomm Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

April 8, 20224 yr TL;DR: • Release date will be announced next week. That's also when the beta testers will start showing off the aircraft. • Those with NGXu Credit will be able to put it towards as many PMDG products as you like. • The 737 will release first, and 6 weeks later the 736, and 6 weeks later the 738, and 6 weeks later the 739. • The MAX is planned. • PMDG is short on cash, and will use initial purchase funds to pay for top of the line interior cabin modeling, HD textures, new EFB, etc. • 28 weeks after release many on the dev team will move on to the 777. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
April 8, 20224 yr Well I really only want the 737-800 not all four variants as that is the variant I will actually use. But I doubt I can wait another 12 weeks after the 700 is released. It's a bit of a bummer as far as my credit card is concerned. Edited April 8, 20224 yr by jarmstro
April 8, 20224 yr PMDG is a great company, but they tend to "forget" their products, no updates for months or years. The DC-6 for P3D has stopped for years and no news about the DC-6 for FS20. In my opinion PMDG doesn't consider that FS20 is a constant work in progress sim, and following the evolution of FS20 is mandatory. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).
April 8, 20224 yr Sounds like the 700 will be free for those who purchased the NGXu early on. April 8, 20224 yr I suppose with my 99 dollar credit I will be able to buy at least 2 complete packages (e.g. -700 and -800). I immagine the first costs about 60-70 dollars, and after that I will be able to buy the other ones or 30-40 dollars each. This would mean a complete 737 package for about 120-140 dollars, which is about what it was previously for P3D. I'm certainly looking forward to it, and not only because I will get most of it for free. What I REALLY like about this statement is the confirmation of the MAX, because I like to fly real life today's routes with the real life today's used aircraft, and the MAX is starting to become quite a common sight. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Why the other models will cost less? Since they are not an expansion I assume that the cost will be mostly the same.

It was previously indicated that purchasing all individual variants would cost less than the previous arrangements to acquire all the variants. I could see a case where the 700 is released cheaper than the 800, but not the 700 at double the cost of following variants.
April 8, 20224 yr Just now, YouDontKnow said: Why the other models will cost less? Since they are not an expansion I assume that the cost will be mostly the same. Hm I thought I read it somewhere, maybe in a dev update a while ago. Anyway it would be economically smart, it's basically 101 of psychologically based pricing strategy. I don't know of any other sim aircraft that does NOT this, so I'd say it's quite probable. On top of that they can make sure most people are buying the (least popular) -700 and not wait for the -800 because of money reasons. That seems their strategy, because there is literally no other reason to put the -700 out first (it's not even the "basic" 737 version). For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
