[08APR22] PMDG 737 for MSFS Developer Update

so i have to wait more time to get my hands on the 800, they know once the 800 comes out not many will want the 600-700, but we have waited this long so a few more months wont hurt

I suspect that there will be a lot more people interested in the 600/700/900 than you might think. Not everyone is obsessed with only flying the correct aircraft type on the correct route at the correct time with the correct colour scheme in the exact same weather as the real world

Can someone enlighten us about the actual differences between the packages, anything more meaty than simply longer hull / more pax?

That would be stupid, I hope not. I think they will keep the old one (which is already programmed and certainly no big deal for MSFS anyway) and replace it later when the new one is ready.

I hope you’re right but I don’t know. I kinda think it’s going to release with no EFB and if so I’ll probably hold off on my purchase. They’ve been known to promise things and not deliver.

Stand-alone means that you do not need to buy the other ones to be able to run it (like the base package on P3D, or what FSL did). This means absolutely nothing about the price.

It means its the same price per stand-alone model

I expect you can get bundle discounts. So if you purchased one base package, adding one will be discounted(i hope).

What PMDG mentioned from the feedback is that with P3D, if you only wanted the -700, you where required to pay 125 USD. And if you where only into a -700 BBJ (a bit of a niche) you need to pay 155 USD.

I think with the new MSFS product bundling method the -600 and -900 won't sell .

                |  737-600  |  737-700       |  737-800  |  737-900  |  737BBJ  |  737-F

P3D         |         Expansion 25$       |       Base pack 99$     |  Exp30$  |  Exp30$

MSFS      |    2nd       | released 1st |   3rd          |   4th         | part of each model pack

Pricing details not yet relieved:

Well considering Southwest has more than 450 of the 700s, I have no problem with that being the first variant released.  Plenty to keep me busy flying all over the US.  😉

Darn it. For those who only want the 737-800 variant, we got to wait 12 weeks. Oh well, we waited 2 years for the first PMDG modern airliner, what's another 12 weeks?

In addition, I like this quote from Randazzo:

At the end of the day, the PMDG 737-700 for MSFS is a far more feature-rich simulation of the 737 series airplane than we have been able to produce in previous platforms and that has us very excited.

That's a very bold statement by Randazzo.  Very, very bold.  Hmm ... ... I was expecting the PMDG 737 for MSFS to be missing some stuff.  The MSFS version won't have the weather radar on its release, as Microsoft/Asobo are still working on the weather radar API for C++/WASM (but the weather radar API already works for Javascript/HTML).  But aside from the weather radar, if the PMDG 737 for MSFS is "far more feature rich" ... ... that is a very, very bold statement, Mr. Randazzo.

At this point, in the race between PMDG and Fenixsim to get the percentage of customs who will buy only one of them, PMDG made an overtake that could be decisive!

I'm pretty sure that Fenixsim will come soon with an update.

I think that who will come first will break any sales record on day 1 in flight simulation history. Change my mind.

I'm in the opposite camp for sure. I like flying the 737s, but I've been waiting forever to get my hands on a good quality Airbus. FSLabbs was not an option I would consider, so Fenix's arrival on the scene is something I am very excited about.

This means each model will cost the same price. Now the exact price is not yet said. But one thing is guarnteed there will be equal amounts of happy and not-happy people on here taling about it!

LOL... This IS Avsim after all... You could give away free money on here and end up with half of the people complaining that it was too much, too little, the wrong denominations, or the wrong currency and the other half just happy that they got free money.

Why 12 weeks? I thought first the -700, then the -800. That's 6 weeks between them. Or are you saying they will release the -700 in 6 weeks from now?

As for the rest: Yes, very bold statement and certainly hyperbole in regard to the "far more".

The 600 come after the 700,if i correctly understand what Rsr wrote

Ah no, that was just in numerical order from 600 up to 900 for the remaining packages. RSR already stated multiple times that the -800 will be second in line. So I don't think that changed.

I read it as an order of release. But indeed it is not clear from the statement.

At approximately six week intervals we will be adding a new 737 package to the product line, to include the PMDG 737-600 for MSFS, PMDG 737-800 for MSFS and PMDG 737-900 for MSFS each as a stand-alone package that will include real world variations of the airframe type and it's various unique flying, handling and options qualities.

If it is just a numerical order they started with the 600🤔

But i wish you are right

They did...? PMDG 737-600 for MSFS, PMDG 737-800 for MSFS and PMDG 737-900 for MSFS

EDIT: By that I mean the text is just numerical order. The release order will be -700, -800...
