[08APR22] PMDG 737 for MSFS Developer Update

Blatant cash grab with releasing unpopular variants first and making it a 12 week wait for the 800. I'm not wasting any more cash with these people I'll take the 800 and use the remaining credit on the 777.

This probably doesn't change your view, but i think you only need to wait 6 week between the release of the -700 and the -800.

It comes directly from the update. I recommend you read it again.

Actually, I'll be kind and link RSR's statement here:

Going by your name, I'm going to assume you're not familiar with early access. This is part of the definition:

And now you do know.

Your interpretation is forced and you started to assume it from "resources" word.

I repeat what I said with different words - it's not written that they are out of cash.

PMDG is not out of money but they surely want to recover the investment they've made in MSFS.  That's just business. Plus we get the aircraft earlier. Why complaining about it ?

Guess we'll just have to disagree. RSR states he can't do HD cabins and new EFBs and avionics etc, until after the influx from release, and he even used the term Early Access. To me it's clear as day what is being stated... but not a hill I care to fight on.

Have a great day.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

We could also suggest to PMDG to delay the launch of the-700 with 6 weeks and release both -700 and -800 at once..

Crikey we wait desperatly for more advanced airliners, and it descends yet again into argument...lol It seems there's no pleasing some.

My guesses are a price of $69.99

Well, my guess is that you may end up being quite surprised at the new pricing. I'm going to guess something more along the lines of $130 is what they're going to ask.

They're certainly going to want this product to gross 7 figures.

Well considering Southwest has more than 450 of the 700s, I have no problem with that being the first variant released.  Plenty to keep me busy flying all over the US.  😉

I suppose it could be worse. They could be releasing the 600 first. At least Ryanair has one 700, or so I believe?

I'll only be getting the 700 but I feel like if that's the case, the price would be far too high for subsequent variants.  A tier discount thing would be better.  2nd variant 49.99, 3rd 29.99, etc (assuming you buy them all).

That is the impression on the pricing I'm getting as well. The only thing we know for sure about pricing is that it will be < $99.99, to quote: You will be able to use it however you see fit, in any combination of purchases that suits your taste. If you elect to purchase a 737 that costs less than your earned credit, you will retain the additional for a future purchase

Personally I'll only get the 700 as well since I don't care about what real world airlines fly and I'll probably fly the BBJ variant of the 737 anyway.

I understand this is just an update regarding the new 737 for MSFS. But still no word about about the promised L-NAV update for the 747.

Your guess is completely wrong, but you would know this, if you would have actually read the statement by Randazzo...

I am not happy with the release sequence and agree with someone above about the cash grab scam, but I've been waiting so long for this that I'm only going to whine about it here and probably never again. Just give me the darn thing, now! I am also a bit disappointed with the lack of tutorial videos from him, as I actually thought the DC-6 series were pretty good and I didn't even buy it.

I really hope that the level of quality of the passenger cabin resembles this!

It's only a cash grab if they grab cash from you hehe.  So if you don't buy the other variants you're good to go lol.

I suspect it its going to be around the pricing of the DC6, but I am not sure that each stand alone version will be the same price. Are there real world cargo and BBJ variants of the 600? I don't think there are, but I might be wrong. If not, either PMDG create fictional variants -- which they generally do not do -- or it will sell as just the passenger variant and, maybe, therefore, at a lower stand alone cost than a 700 or 800. The variant only has a handful of operators at best, SAS retired theirs in 2019 and WestJet has stored theirs, It was just never a popular model with only 69 ever made. I think it will only sell at a reduced price.
