[08APR22] PMDG 737 for MSFS Developer Update

Featured Replies

I don't understand the "Cash Grab" complaints. You're not required to purchase any variants you don't want - hence, they're not requiring you to spend money, that you don't need to. If the -700 was a requirement, for the other versions to work, then yes you would have a point. But this is not the case. How is this a cash grab, because you have to wait a little longer, for the version you want??

... Why complaining about it ?

Because this is AVSIM...

aren't they the ones here?

No, these were the ones made available at release. Robert did say a number of times in those videos that they would later release more videos that went into more depth about certain systems of the aircraft, such as de-icing. I have not seen these released, which is a shame as I would have appreciated learning that aircraft in more detail than I have and His videos were helpful.

Exciting times...good to have the NGXu credit thing spelled out too.  Turns out the most reasonable answer was the correct one on that front, I remember there were some pretty wild theories of how that would go flying around the forms some time ago.  I'm guessing I'll get two variants with the credit, maybe slightly more or less but all in all I'm a happy camper.

It's only a cash grab if they grab cash from you hehe.  So if you don't buy the other variants you're good to go lol.

That's the strategy my dude. I only need the 900 tbh, but it'll do with 700. 🙂

I understand this is just an update regarding the new 737 for MSFS. But still no word about about the promised L-NAV update for the 747.

No.  And don't hold your breath because P3D is plainly in the rear view mirror at this point.

I wonder if the credit also applies to the MAX.. you'd think so as it's the same product line anyway.

The way I understood Robert's comment was that you have a PMDG credit of $99 and can apply it to whatever product you wish. I suspect you could even hold off for the triple seven if you wanted. And I think this is quite a fair approach.

How about you guys chill for a bit and wait till next week for the pricing confirmation? There is no point of arguing and assuming and we have no idea on how much it will cost 😄

I think the irritation some folk are feeling is this. - Of course we all want the PMDG 737 as we know it will be superb and will transform the sim for the airliner folk. But most want the 800 not the 700. So strong is the desire for this plane that people will end up paying for two planes when they will only use one on a long term basis. It's a profit maximising ploy without any doubt though I am not passing judgement on whether it is right or wrong. Money rules.

I had the PMDG in P3D, and had all of them from the 600-900 if I remember correctly. I think I flew them all, switching around between different flights. I don't remember thinking that I always had to fly the 800 for instance. They were all about the same. Now I am talking years ago, so I might not be remembering correctly. I think the 600-700 was about $30.

Yes but you would want the 800 if you did real life short haul holiday flights from the UK. Cattle Class with Ryanair is what I am hoping to recreate in the sim.  Oh the stories I could tell...😂

IMO: the -700 is the best looking 737. It's more close in proportion to the -200 and flies a bit nicer than the stretched models. The -900 looks wack, just like the CRJ-1000 lol.

Previously you need to buy the -700 base pack if you wanted the -800 but now you can just buy the 800 separately.  You just need to wait for its release.
