Flying at an altitude of 35000 over Los Angeles my frames were fluctuating between 24-30...they were all over the place. and clear skies too. Never had this issue on the FBW. My specs are bellow so I would think my frames would be higher for the PMDG. Im also on 1080 resolution with most settings set to high a and clouds set to Utlra. LOD terrain on 100 and building at 150. Any advice on what I can be doing wrong? I have my refresh locked at 30 on the sim not Nvidia CP. try clouds high.

Same as any other ga plane. Same as the 414 and Kodiak or the JF Arrows. I don’t use an fps counter. I can tell you I am a long time track ir and vr user. I prefer the fluidity of movment with 45+fps. It is very noticeable to me the difference in below 45fps and above. As such I have my system setup to prioritize framerates vs everything ultra and a locked 30. None of the 4 planes have knocked me below that in use. I get a few stutters in fly Tampa’s klas but that’s the scenery being a dumb dumb since the update and not the planes. Performance. My system is Haswell 4770K @4.5 GHz RAM 16 Gb 2200 MHz NVIDIA 2070 Super SSD drives Win 10. Also I use VR with a HP Reverb G2 headset. I see that I don't full fill the system requirements for the Cessna 310 in VR and for the PMDG. Do these two planes hit performance harder than others ? I now have one payware plane and that is the JF Turbo Arrow III/IV. And I don't see any harder hit on performance in that compared to default planes. Is 1) to 4) different ? Should I stay away from 1) and 3) because they are harder on performance ? Terrain LOD is the slider to pay attention to. Lower = better performance. MSFS
May 13, 20224 yr i have an ancient machine that i'm was surprised to learn is even capable of running msfs (i7 930 @ 3.5ghz, gtx 970). i use the medium settings preset and no other tweaks and get like 40ish fps over the ocean with some clouds with the 737 performance on the milviz, concorde, and 737 is really solid for me, the 737 smooth as all git out...it is smoother and higher frames than i got with fsx and the pmdg back in the day... amazing! the 146 is definitely too much for my system tho, not sure why it is worse, but the fps seems like half of what i get what the other ones. i think that is unique to my system though cheers

No clouds anywhere ok yes, there is also a host of nvidia settings, that can have a lot of influence. are you running without other programs active? etc it is a complicated piece of software running on a complicated os. there are such a ridiculous amount of parameters. even bios settings can make a difference.

If I go to any runway in the 172 default plane and switch planes by Dev Mode menu to the 146, framerates will always drop. The Cessna 310 will not drop framerates at all compared to 172 default. But the 146 framerate drop is small, only about 10 %. Instead of 40 the BAe will show 36. About like that. May 13, 20224 yr All i have is the PMDG 737-700 and the performance is amazing, i was in total shock when first time loading the bird and it was performing like i was in the default Cessna. Jason Aerts

I am running full 4K and my trusty old 1080TI is working hard which is why I am looking at an upgrade. It is still a very fluid and enjoyable experience though. May 13, 20224 yr The only aircraft where performance is an issue is the PMDG DC6. Some users find it unusable.

I do notice that my friends would like at 30 but once in awhile would go up to 34 real quick. If the friends are locked I don't understand why I would see a spike of a higher frame over 30 here and there Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
