FENIX A320 RELEASED!

So, I am getting my upper limit 45 FPS on the ground at LICJ with loads of traffic.

Nevertheless, this thing is really hammering my 12400F...

My keyboard shortcut doesn't work, in other airplane yes

Just started messing around w the A320, set the plane to cold and dark and heard the engine spool down OMG, even the fan blades clanking is simulated!  Anyone whos worked the ramp knows exactly this sound when the engines are off the the wind is slightly turning the blades and the clank sound . wow   DETAILS

Just have a look at what I found at the botton of the last page, see if that helps?

As one who owns now both, uhm, it's an Airbus right, it's the same feeling but again a new one at the same time. Could be the different sim environment.

Sounds are different, that's for sure. If I am correct, Fenix uses a different font for the text on the displays. EFB from Fenix is really nice and intuitive. Sun vizors for the windshield now do they job, and are actually really nicely done, but because of the EFB you can't pull up the sun screen on the front side windows 🙂

Well considering as well the price, shall we say Fenix is taking the helm of the best simulation from FSLabs? 🤔

I'm curious: Do you use the CPU or GPU to render the displays? Does it make a significant difference if you activate the CPU's integrated GPU and use that one for rendering the displays, so the CPU and main GPU may have it a bit easier?

You can pull the sun shade actually, you can take the EFB off from the suction cups and then you can pull the shade. The amount of hidden details like that they have in there is crazy, and I don't know where they are documented apart from learning them from streamers!

CPU. I have tried using the GPU but got some weird lag and low refresh rate on the displays. Might try it again later.

Everything is smooth with the default settings, though.

Having flown both, I'd say systems and details wise the Fenix and the FSL are at the same level (OK the wx radar is on its way but apart from that) and then the Fenix has better graphics and textures (thanks to the new platform) and definitely much better performance on FPS. Sounds are probably on a similar extremely high level for both (but I have not used Fenix with headphones yet to really appreciate the detailed soundscape), only a quick flight on the speakers.

Fenix EFB is on another level from pretty much any other add-on on any platform, as well as the Simbrief integration.

Sorry for asking again, but when you say you tried the GPU, do you refer to your main GPU or to your CPU's integrated Intel GPU (which one has to activate in BIOS first if it is not selectable)? I ask because some in this thread say it makes a difference when the integrated GPU is selected for (only) the displays, and I wonder how big that one could be.

Thank you for the replies regarding CPU power draw.

For reference this is what I get with the FBW and 737:

Settings: 4k, mostly high. Vsync on in sim, locked at 30 FPS

Sitting on runway 01 at FACT, powered up and ready to go.

FBW A320:
CPU Power draw: 26.26W
CPU Frequency: 4.5GHz
CPU Util %: 9%
GPU Util %: 99%
VRAM %: 93%
Package Temp: 32C

PMDG 737-700 passenger version:
CPU Power draw: 24.37W
CPU Frequency: 3.6GHz < varies between 3.6Ghz and 4.5Ghz
CPU Util %: 9%
GPU Util %: 100$
VRAM %: 93%
Package Temp: 29C

Ambient temperature: 19 degrees C

Funny to see people with CPU's and/or GPU's that are like 3-4 generations back reporting performance issues.

It's 2022 and time to update some of that hardware or restrict yourself to planes that are suitable for such old hardware.

Funny how you totally missed the point. The complaints I saw were from people who had no problems flying the FBW A320 and/or the PMDG 737 at good fps, but ran into framerate issues with the Fenix.

If your framerates are ok with other high-end airliners (that perform similar to the Fenix A320 on other systems), it doesn't make sense to blame the hardware.

The bad performance reports seem a bit mystifying.  All of the streams and YT videos I watched looked rather smooth with acceptable frame rates.

Well with a 3090 GPU it should be no miracle that it has no problems running the displays on the GPU without breaking a sweat....

How about New York. Must be a hog in that area?

Could someone let me know if Fenix app Product configuration changes (display quality & Render Displays on:) need to be fixed before loading MSFS ? Or they could work real time when aircraft is loaded in-game.
