but first resolve the most urgent bugs. This must have absolute priority at this stage.

Exactly! And they need to tell inibuilds to stop working on that stupid, useless A310 that no one asked for. Why give us an awesome, high fidelity plane like that when there are game shattering bugs! I mean, no one is able to play MSFS right now because of the almighty bugs! Why would they put all that work into the 40th anniversary edition when the sim is completely unplayable for everyone!??? /s

It seems they announce the World Update later in the evening when the kids have been put to bed. 😴

No. That is certainly a clever move which I fully agree to. But I am not sure that Halo thingy falls into the same category.

You can't deny the stacking number of complaints not only here but on the official forum about all sorts of serious issues, notably performance-related ones. While MSFS will get - justified - raving reviews for the new planes and stuff it will collect bad karma because of those bugs and issues, some long-standing, some new. To name just a few: The WU-PG-cities-drag-US-airports-performance-bug, the horizon line bug, the toolbar windows opening half only under VR, the crazy AI plane liveries, plenty of cars driving on taxi lines.... Maybe you are lucky to experience none of these, but I do. And why does it have a score of just 2.8 on the MS Store and only 76% on Steam?

For a more comprehensive list of issues see, e.g., here.

I am certainly known to be a big supporter and defender of MSFS, just look up my posting trace. However, the backlog of issues starts to become a serious danger for its prospering. Which I dislike. Looking away doesn't help.

I stand to this: Quality before quantity.

For all those who seem wanting to cosplay as MS/Asobo development lead and/or project manager, please do try and join the team so you can direct their priorities and what they should be working on or not, how they should allocate their dev resources (since you apparently think all the dev resources have equivalent skills so they can be moved around to work on anything), what they should not be giving away free, etc etc.

Or, take it for what it is and enjoy what MS/Asobo gives us, FOR FREE. Well, there's also the other option of walking away from MSFS and using whatever other sim that seems to be running the development project according to your liking ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You clearly missed the point of my post. They cannot bring content creation to a grinding halt just because there are bugs. There will always be bugs. When they try to fix bugs they will introduce new ones. It has nothing to do with them bringing a madeup aircraft from Halo to the sim. Bugs or no bugs, life goes on and I for one don't want to go back to the days of sim stagnation. You think SU10 got delayed because they had to push the Pelican out the door?

Seriously, guys, even if you're serious simmers (TM) try out the Pelican from HALO. It's really fun to fly and has some impressive animations in the model (engine pods) when maneuvering. This is perfect for just exploring scenery, because it can stop on a dime in hover mode.

I would have preferred them to proactively acquire more human capital for bug fixing than things like the Pelican.

Plague Tale was really good, I was hooked on the first one!

I was on the BAFTA judging panel when the game got nominated for its tech. It's how I got to know Asobo, with no idea they would end up in the flightsim world at the time!

How are you so sure they don't have enough people working on the bugs? You can only throw so many people at a problem in software development before it becomes inefficient. Some things just take time and meanwhile, they can continue bringing content to the sim.

Are you sure they do?

So this is why they delayed SU10. I get it.

a big lead time too, when you add new people. Takes a long time to get familiar with someone elses code (I have always been hopeless at that!), so its always best fixed by the coder who wrote the code.

I'm not sure either way so I'm not gonna moan about an add-on that more than likely had no effect on bug fixing timelines. Like I said earlier, it's a huge waste of time.
