June 18, 20223 yr Again it's nice to hear from the head honcho, I could pick a lot of holes in that interview but as the first one they're just words - it's the actions that will count. i.e. if SU10 comes out and the VR Toolbar bug is still not fixed I'll be emailing him myself and quoting these interviews...but lets hope not eh(!), I mean I don't want to get like that, I want the creases ironed out not just in VR but across the board. One thing that keeps springing to mid is that SU10 will be released practically 2 years after first release, I'm hoping that this update will be the stepping stone that SU5 never was and that it's the Base from which the next 8+ years will grow from. For sure all very exciting times, this is a fantastic product, I just hope the words in these interviews don't turn out to be more hot air. My take on all of this, MSFS, it's rate of progression, etc: I think all of this is way harder than it appears to be to get right. We pontificate on what we think MS/A should be doing but we really don't have the entire picture like they do. IOW, I don't see any 'hot air'. I see our expectations are based on limited information. June 18, 20223 yr Definitely an interesting interview. Quite in-depth, and it’s promising he emphasized the importance of stability several times. Of course he didn’t get into any details, like whether they’re looking into the performance degradation over time and such. Although he did say “The team is, I would say probably 50% of the programmers are working on stability right now.” The collaboration with 3rd parties is quite impressive, and I’m sure we’ll see more of this in the future. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

I pointed you at plenty of examples in those other screenshots from the MSFS dev updates, and the water masks thread on the official forums, etc. They all clearly show screenshots from MSFS in 2022, with a great variety of water colors. If you remain unconvinced then not sure what else I can do, certainly don't have the patience to post my own screenshots here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... anyways maybe a separate "water color 2020 vs 2022" thread is needed before this thread gets shut down due to off-topic and/or heavy screenshots content. The balance of clouds, water, light is not the same as it was two years ago. that's all for me. I make my own opinion, no need for video assistant or messages from elsewhere.

The hardware can do a little better everywhere on Ultra, but not much, and I don't have a Gsync display so I settle on solid smooth 30fps. I have no performance problem overall with solid smooth 30fps also but only in certain airports which are not necessarily lbig. That's my problem. On some forums I also see a lot of dissatisfaction about performance even with modern equipment.

Try this formula, adjusted for your hardware, and see if you can solve the issue for yourself, and disable PG if you haven't already--or leave it enabled but as you must know there is a cost associated with it and you don't have much headroom. I hope this will partly solve my problem in some of the airports in addition to the FENIX which is heavy on my system. With the last MSFS update i must adjust Terrain-LOD to 60% whereas before I was not obliged to go down so low and I was even pleasantly surprised by the performance with my old pc. I hope that DX12 will make it possible to exploit to the maximum all the power of modern equipment and for MSFS to take flight in an even more immersive world. I fly 3 hours a day, so it may be too much. but I can't find MSFS 2020 so extraordinary. Many things are very average.

I've been a bit disillusioned with the various bugs that have existed for a while, and I've had some rants about this recently. Perhaps a bit too many judging by the response from fellow forum members. But I think the future of MSFS does look quite bright. Looking forward to DX12 and DLSS on August 23. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
