I think people think Jorg decides what goes into the World Updates, but actually, I simply chase the data a lot. If there’s cool data, I’m interested because it makes life for the simmers better. Something to take away from the interview whenever you're thinking the World updates don't arrive in an order you'd prefer or target your favorite location...
June 15, 20223 yr It's good to see that they are finally admitting that they should be doing more to improve the core sim and to stop released huge updates that do more to degrade the sim than improve it. I spend hours yesterday updating the sim and nothing of relevance was improved that I will personally enjoy. They are so out of touch with what's important. For a small fee I be happy to be a consultant moving forward. 😀 MSFS

I still cant judge if it is realistic but to me a looked good. Is it relevant to me?? NO, my general health and happiness and that of my wife is relevant to me. MSFS is for fun. I'll put my "MSFS is FUN against anyone." Dig a little deeper into David's post and you will find that Virginia was already improved by a payware airport. I don't mind the world updates, but can they please start focusing on "live weather" depiction of clouds? MSFS
June 15, 20223 yr Yeah! I went to the Smithsonian, and this exact model and livery [one of those shown in the trailer] is hanging from the ceiling of the museum. The hope is that as we go forward, we’ll actually do quite a bit with the Smithsonian. They have a lot of planes, super-cool stuff. I shall now visit the Smithsonian website and start compiling my wish-list. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

I agree with that. And in my case I m not even excited every week about their development update anymore. No more excited about yesterday's USA (2) update either.(My use of google map has never been so pleasant). And I don't even look anymore Developer video Twish series . I haven't seen anything extraordinary since MSFS 2020 release and this first "slap" I can also understand that it is more extraordinary from their point of view than mine and I really don't feel like they use MSFS like we do. I also have the strong impression that they use "The free Method" excessively to compensate the rest. Yet I continue to fly 3 hours a day and cling to the date of August . I need fundamental improvements. I'm desperately waiting for the second "slap"

To me, the biggest step was the introduction of VR, and maybe the Switzerland update as it immensely improved the scenery. I‘m not saying that things have stagnated or even gone south (I don‘t think they have, overall) and I know that to others different things are exciting. But it would be great to see a big leap forward at some point, e.g. seasons done convincingly or a revamped night lighting system. Like you I use the sim almost daily, especially since the Fenix and the 737 came out, and I do get these wow-feelings from time to time, but not because of new stuff but because there‘s moments in which this sim looks absolutely gorgeous and everything just feels right. So I‘m not complaining, I’m just hoping. Edited June 15, 20223 yr by Shack95 i9-11900K, RTX 4090, 32 GB ram, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, TCA Airbus sidestick and quadrant, Reverb G2

Ya the biggest "wow" moments for me these days are the 3rd party add-on aircrafts that have arrived since May, and now again looking forward to November for the iniBuilds A310, Milviz Beaver, Nemeth Bell-407 & other helis, gliders, etc. Despite some of the regressions in SU9, overall the introduction of good prop physics >=SU8 and CFD >=SU9 were a plus, and looking forward to weather improvements, airflow visualizations, etc in SU10. You're right in terms of the core sim apart from aircrafts we're at a point now where only big features like full seasons, revamped ATC, revamped AI, etc will give that "wow" again. But after 9 sim updates and 10 world updates, I guess it's to be expected not every update will have the "wow" features. I do have to say though that the Spain/Portugal world update was a near-wow, as was the Australia WU. Hopefully they'll impress us with the coming world updates in August and October being done somewhere outside North America and Europe. Depending on what SU10 gives (and takes away lol), the 40th anniversary edition will probably be the next "wow" for me due to all the aircrafts/helis/gliders coming, especially the ini A310 given that i'll probably be the first high fidelity wide-body/long-hauler for MSFS, all for free! June 15, 20223 yr I wonder if there will ever truly be another "WOW" moment, not because I don't think they're capable of "wow" things, but because I don't know how realistic that kind of improvement on a grand scale really is. It may continue to be piecemeal for years. I totally get why some would see Jorg as nothing but a PR guy; I mean, being the head salesperson is literally part of his job, but I also get the sense that he does actually really enjoy and love this stuff, even if his priorities don't necessarily line up with some users. In any case, the fact that we're all here and this engaged in discussions, including the..erm, "passionate" exchanges that sometimes occur...means they're at least doing a few things right by us.

Exactly. Sometimes it's good to step back and think.. in any previous sims, over a period of two years after initial release or some subsequent release, did we ever get this much improvements and add-ons for free? I can honestly say a resounding h*ll no... and let's not forget, what MSFS provides now will continue to give "wow" moments of its own as we try countless scenarios of flights over the various spectacular world locales, in different types of weather and times of days/years, different aircrafts, etc etc. After all, previously in other sims that's what we had to rely on to get that continuous enjoyment, and there the world locales and weather representations were bland as ever... expecting to get new/amazing features every month or so is perhaps something we're doing now given how much we've been spoiled by MSFS 🙂 ... but I'm very prepared to be surprised by what MS/Asobo has up its sleeve for MSFS and beyond (one day my dream of a merging of Flight Simulator, Train Simulator, Driving Simulator i.e. Forza, maybe even Boat/Ship Simulator, might well come true hehe).
