FSLTL - live traffic finally released

Featured Replies

If you look in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\fsltl-trafic-injector\temp-plans you can see the flight plans that FSLTL sumbits to FS2020 for aircraft, once it has picked up the initial details from Flightradar24.

This of course is only the case if you have an API key from flightplandatabase.com.

What I dont understand at the moment is there seems to be far fewer flgitplans than there are injected aircraft so what are the others doing for navigation!?

I never saw any realistic spacing on final like you would irl, nor did I ever see the same tight departure sequencing. I also didn't see departures ever turn while on the sid where those are a thing like they do with PSXT Traffic or irl. There's just too many inconsistencies imo.

As I said in my post, on approach, taxi and take off it's controlled by the Default AI systems. It's only when between airports is it controlled by Flightaware's data position.

That's why spacing is a problem. I'm not sure at what altitude the flightaware data takes over control, if any. It may just be aircraft that are spawned enroute.

FSLTL still has spinning aircraft, it's even mentioned on the website as an issue they can't fix.

They're using the default AI systems to control the aircraft, only Asobo can't stop the spins.

Because MSFS is still handling the AI traffic when on the ground (and during approaches, landings, takeoffs and go-arounds).

Ah so this FSLTL only option just eliminates the low fly by issue over airports.

Thanks!

They just delete the aircraft after after a go around to prevent it.

I get much more busy populated active air traffic with API key disabled somehow, I activate the key and it's no so much air traffic anymore.

I've been testing @Corsten's method for a little while now around CYYZ. Seems to be working well as far as I can tell. I'm getting lots of activity (local time 5:41pm), both in terms of ground movements, arrivals and departures. AI correspond well with online sources with a couple of minutes delay.

MSFS: Real-time online, ground aircraft 0

FSLTL: IFR 0, VFR 15, parked 5

AIG in community folder of course.

Whether this method is better than injecting everything with FSLTL - it's too early for me to tell. The biggest drawback could be that I miss out on the "blocked Aircraft Removal Time".

But before any future update, remember to cut and paste it back into your CF to be able to use the FBW Installer/Updater

Not exactly what it's needed. With the Addons Linker you must assure the add-on is linked to proceed with any future update or uninstall. No need to move or cut back before any update/uninstall. So, it's even easier.

Cheers, Ed

Has anyone got this to work with addonlinker yet ? I mean have it start automatically when msfs starts using the addonlinker app.

The video I link below answered a good number of my personal questions (sorry if it's in any of the 40-ish pages before this, haven't reviewed each one):

Has anyone else confirmed @Gerwil observation that it is not the models but the effects (lights) the models use that hamper performance and removing the effects folder from the 'fsltl-traffic-base' helps FPS?

I got everything set up quite well now I think. Had to reduce the terrain LOD a fair bit to maintain >30fps. This is from a holding pattern over KLAS:

Note: The stutters are from the recording. It was very smooth in the sim.

Experimenting with AIG aircraft in this program but can't seem to get the AIG ERJ-135/45 to install using the AIG program.  Any know if this aircraft isn't compatible with MSFS?

Sorry to ask but why doing all of this?

I don't mind that you ask. But have you followed the discussion going on in the last few pages of this thread?

AIG doesn't have an ERJ-135/45 model for MSFS yet.
