Steam Gauge Overhaul - Analog King Air out now

Someone over at MS forum said this was a fantasy plane because the KA 350i never came with analog gauges. I admit the comment stuck in my head. Anyone care to comment on this?

Same engine model PT6A-60A

Same pax: 9-11

There are slight performance differences. Similar to say, 172P and 172N models, which practically the same but Vx and Vy slightly different  . Visually; however, you can't even see a difference. Same apply 350 vs 350i in my opinion.

It’s certainly a fun aircraft to learn. Took a while before I understood the electrical system but after a few cold and dark starts I think I’ve got it.

Landing roll is not bad with max reverse (beta?) and brakes.

After three flights I cannot find any major flaws. But then again I’m not a King Air expert.

I 'm with you on that! I'm not King Air expert either, but all what I know about King Air seems right. I used own Aeroworx version AirfoilLabs of King Air, seems this one in the same ball park!

Thanks! Exactly what i was looking for.

What a plane has great system depth was getting bored just flying A to B in the tubeliners.  I'll be flying this for awhile.

@ryanbatc

I had issues with using the same 3rd party livery for the default and the analog Caravan; whenever I tried looking at the analog Caravan in the hangar using the duplicated livery, it would lock up the sim. Didn't do much troubleshooting beyond that, I just deleted that particular livery for the default Caravan. Edit: that resolved the lock-up issue.

If some of the 3rd party livery creators are using panel.cfg settings to remove the type-your-own registration, I'd imagine you can add those lines to the Black Square panel.cfg and accomplish the same thing. (I'm sure you've already thought of doing that...truth is, I hadn't, until you mentioned the panel.cfg.

>>>Oh, I really recommend the sound pack from FTSim+. Gives the engine sounds that extra turbine sound punch, which default sounds lacks.

Hi,

Do you know whether we can get the KingAir sound pack from FTSim+ with the basic membership? I am only interested in this package.

Thanks

I have a monthly membership, but can't remember if that was required for the Caravan or the King Air. You could ask here though: https://www.patreon.com/FTSIM/posts

Question: I have the TDS GTN750NXi. The weather radar feature does not work on this as apparently, the sim in its current state does not provide weather data over Simconnect for the GTN750 unit to read. Asobo might one day address this. So then, how does the weather radar in the KA350 perform? Does it provide meaningful and accurate weather information?

Hopefully, some enterprising user can "hack" moving into the cabin and establishing cabin views.

Can someone make an Australian Royal Flying Doctors livery please 🙂

Great plane - this is what I was really waiting for... and it does not disappoint.

Flew a 250 mile hop today  - anyone know what LCHIP and RCHIP detect means? My engines finally failed on approach 😞 so must be serious. Maybe I just ought to RFM..

It’s one of our daily emergency items to discuss ….the good ol engine chip light. The TL:DR version: the reduction gearbox could potentially separate from the turbine shaft. The light indicates the possibility of “chip” damage detected ie you are blowing metal (“chips”) from the coupling and it is detecting it…hence your blown up engines.

Never touched the Caravan or King Air in this and previous sims, now it's pretty much all I fly.

2 nitpicks:

- Volt meter is showing EXT PWR supply even when the EXT POWER switch is OFF and there is no GPU connected (user error or bug?)

- I really wish the checklists (which are otherwise excellent) supported AI interaction. The JF BAe146 has this and I find it eases the learning curve a bit.

Undercarriage lever a bit sticky was it, Sir?
