AI Traffic Improvement SU11

I really hope SU11 will fix all if not most of the AI problems. Such as the AI planes moving up and down and LOD issues such as not being able to see the wheels unless you get close enough. Watching planes taxiing at a distance without wheels looks odd.

And my biggest annoyance are those blocky navigation, beacon, strobe lights on AI planes! Really looks ugly.

So, on the other forums they are saying there are still some issues with AI traffic, but it's looking much improved IMO. Below video with FSTL, SU11:

EGPH with FSLTL SU11 Beta - YouTube

Is that just FSLTL? The way this plane cuts across the grass (40-42 secs in) makes it seem like maybe PSXT with Real Traffic.

It is a nice video even with the memory error at the end..

Looks like a rogue AI in the beta traffic engine.
The current AI engine has lots of weird problems that need fixing. While trying to resolve them, the odd AI model may go awry in this phase of testing.

P.S. Much better, though still an awful lot of unnecessary go-arounds.

It doesn't and it won't so don't get your hopes up.

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

I think a lot of the go around problem would be greatly reduced if the aircraft would keep at a 30kt roll on the runway until the next taxiway is reached.  I see aircraft rolling at like 10 knots and passing taxiways (including 90 degree)  until it finds a high speed taxiway.

MSFS Alpha tester on W10 Pro x64. Hardware: AMD 5900X 12 core CPU. Cooler Master ML360R AIO, Asus X570-E mobo, Asus Strix 3090 24GB gfx card, G.Skill TridentZ 64GB (4x16) DDR4-3600 RAM, Samsung 970 250GB SSD (OS), Samsung 980 Pro 1TB M.2 pcie-4 NVMe SSD (MSFS install). EVGA 850w Gold cert PSU, CUK Continuum full ATX tower.  43" Sceptre 4K display. VR: HP Reverb G2.

I’ve just flown out of Geneva and one of the changes I like is that the AI is already moving when you spawn at an airport - I had one taxiing off the runway and a couple moving on the taxiway.

Brings the sim to life straight away.

using SU11 Beta

using FSLTL models only

using default real-time traffic

How about the performance degradation? I still observe after 2 hrs or so certain performance degradation presumably caused by AI.

Have they ever acknowledged this? I agree it’s absolutely awful and you’d think it would be one of the easiest and first things they should have resolved!

Not seen that either since Su10  was released. You seem very unlucky with the issues you seem to have.

I'm not even sure. I've even made several topics on their official forum regarding this issue. The AI planes in FSLTL doesn't have this problem. So I believe the problem lies in the default AI models.

Any way to disable the defaults and just use the FSLTL ones?

I am using FSLTL AI models only. Just make sure you turn the options to use generic models off in MSFS's options under TRAFFIC.

They fixed the issue where AI Aircraft would only fly at 250kts no matter what altitude.

Still get quite a few generics though. Apparently it can be solved although I haven't tried it (yet):
