Now we know that the difference between a 3090 and 4090 with the same settings and then sane AA is only 7%…

A comparison between DLSS 2 and DLSS 3 shows less quality in the distance when using DLSS 3 ( I just watched the vid on my 4K 65” tv ).

But a 4090 can use DLSS 3 while a 3090 cannot so if you want a good scene to look at and max fps this is the way to go.

If you want the best looking scene TAA is the one to use and fps will be lower and the difference between both cards is little .,,

So almost zero difference between the 3090 and the 4090, because he's CPU limited.

What makes the difference is the DLSS3 frame generation.

Right now it only works on 4000 series, and it uses some additional hardware on these cards to pull it off.

But it also should work on 2000 and 3000 series, just not with the efficiency as on the 4000 series.
Someone has already made it work on a 2070. With quite a lot more frames, but it was not stable because it's currently not supported for these cards.

In the future I think it's likely it will be implemented on 2000 and 3000 series officially, but right now it's one of the biggest reasons people are paying £2000 for a 4090.

The power draw is interesting. I am pulling the exact same in my 3090 with an undervolt in place. That is however in DX12 TAA

Yes, if you stop, if you zoom, if you're looking at tiny details, if you're searching for errors, small glitches and what no...you will find them. If you don't, and you play, it is absolutely awesome...going from 60-70 til 120-140 fps is magnificent and I don't care if there is a tiny dot missing in the distance, cause I will not notice it while flying. It may be marketing, but for those of us playing at 4k and have a 4090, DLSS 3 is groundbreaking.

"Nobody realy needs sutch an Grafikcard - IMO ! " - nobody needs a Lambo neither, but still...

A Lambo? A RTX 4090 using DLSS 3.0 is not a Lambo, rather a VW Golf with a tweaked tachometer telling you that your current speed is 300 km/h while it is actually just 150 km/h...

Sure, DLSS 3 is nice for pancake mode, especially since it steps around being CPU bound and this vid proves its point, but I can't fly 2d anymore.  Let's see how DLSS 3 pans out for VR (dang I've love to peg my G2 at 90 fps, now I'm sporting a solid 45 fps frame rate limited with DLSS Quality on a 3080 ti).  Input lag...we'll see how that unfolds too.

There are videos out there already. Saw some posts in the Asobo's forum a day or two ago. Saw someone getting 40+ on final to EGLL.

It is not hate. It is the hype that NVidia tries to create for a card that costs € 2500 - € 3000.

When I bought both of 3090 cards their prices were € 1450 and € 1250 new.

If you now know that with the sane settings and sane AA the performance gain is just 7%, wouldn’t you agree that the price for a 4090 card is € 1000-€ 1200 too high ?

On my 55” 4K left view and 2x 43” 4K front view I can see the image degradation in the distance using DSLL 2 compared to TAA. DSLL3 takes this even a step further looking at the vids.

There is no such thing as a free ride…

And the prices NVidia is charging is a shame. But hey, if there are people who buy these cards they will keep on pushing the prices eveh more for future cards.

NVidia could learn something from Intel as they have come down with prices for their CPU’s compared to several years ago. ( Still having a 7940X here which costed new € 1600 )….

So, using a 6900XT, you get your info and strong opinions from what...youtube vids? Why do people who do not have a 4090 make assumptions based on nothing but rumours and posts from other ppl who does not own a 4090? If you have a 4090 and forgot to update your sig, and you have actually tested DLSS 3 and didn't like it, then fine, maybe DLSS 3 is not for everybody...if you base your opinion on what you read...then I'm inclined to say STFU.

Not that simple. When not using the Frame Generation (DLSS 3) the GPU is limited by the cpu. That’s where the FG thrives. It allows the GPU to create frames by itself.

What I mean is, without the frame generation you won’t use all the power the 4090 has because there’s no cpu capable to pair with it.
