December 16, 20223 yr Did I read somewhere that the last update introduced a limit on the number of BGL files in the Community Folder? The reason I ask is that I belive that FSLTL and Global Shipping seem to have quite a lot of them and MSFS crashes on the flight loading screen when I use them both together along with all my other add-ons. If I remove either, then the sim runs perfectly fine and very smoothly. Not sure when it happened, why they did it, or what the limits are. Hopefully someone can enlighten us. PS. I believe someone at Global Shipping advised on how to split the BGL's (just to the area you are flying in) to try to alleviate this. @Cpt_Piett knows how to do it I believe. Hopefully Asobo can put the original limit back or fix this in some way. Edited December 16, 20223 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). December 16, 20223 yr It can also be that there are some cross-incompatibilties between two or more add-ons. I have quite a lot add-ons including Globals Shipping, AIG and FSLTL but don't have any CTD issues. The only issue I am aware is the number of add-ons in the community folder (linked or in real). If you have too many of them (I guess more than 1000), you cannot access the content manager. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

That resolved the CTD upon flight loading due to the max object count being exceeded. The “recipe” should be in the GAIST thread (don’t have the link availability, sorry). 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
December 16, 20223 yr I personally do not believe there is a hard coded limit, imo it comes down to what your machine can handle. I have the full version of GAIST, GAIST Great Lakes, Seafront's Vessel's, WeLoveVFR region 1 and 2, the powerlines and solar farms mod, the project lifts mod, the Marina's mod, world navaids, FSTL, AIG, and a ton of other stuff installed. I have absolutely no problems, never stutter, never crash. The power lines mod in particularly is extremely intensive, with all of the wires residing in memory. I'm using a fast Seagate FireCuda m.2 drive though, and 32gb of fast dram.

In that case, yours and Waldo's comments need to be taken into account, as there could be something else at play. Strange how splitting the Global Shipping BGL's works in that particular case though. December 17, 20223 yr I don't think it's as much BGL as it is sim objects. The number of sim objects (not bgl files) is what can cause problems. Edited December 17, 20223 yr by Phantoms James

Got all those as well. Probably wouldn’t have any issues with object limit if I didn’t have all these. Although it used to be fine. Before SU10 I guess. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
December 22, 20223 yr Hello guys, I was looking for a topic regarding this freezing issue, other than on the official MSFS forums and found this one. I did A LOT of testing for GAIST and here are my results: SUMMARY - The issue got introduced in SU8 and wasn't present in SU8 Beta. - Random freeze during flight loading happens when there is more than 706 .bgl files in the Community folder. - This is not a size issue. - This is not a corrupted/error json/object issue. RESULTS Total of BGL files in Community folder tests: 851 BGL files: freeze on the 1st try 806 BGL files: freeze on the 17th try 805 BGL files: freeze on the 2nd try 756 BGL files: freeze on the 14th try 755 BGL files: freeze on the 1st try 754 BGL files: freeze on the 3rd try 726 BGL files: freeze on the 16th try 716 BGL files: freeze on the 20th try 711 BGL files: freeze on the 12th try 710 BGL files: freeze on the 9th try 709 BGL files: freeze on the 8th try 708 BGL files: freeze on the 6th try 707 BGL files: freeze on the 22nd try 706 BGL files: 160/160 tries OK 656 BGL files: 20/20 tries OK Results speak for themselves. If I remove a random .bgl when I have 707 of them, I can start 160 flights in a row with no freeze. If I add back the .bgl, the game goes back to freezing during flight loading. I’m pretty sure it affects everybody, but this is SO random, that you can start 21 flights in a row with no issues, and freeze on the 22nd one. If you want to give a try to check if my results are correct, please feel free to do it and report back. Thanks!

December 23, 20223 yr It may also be dependent on some other factors. Because I have, at this time, 4,899 BGL files in my community folder (including GAIST).
