The most important thing in my case was choosing 120hz refresh rate. That cured all stutters all together!

Is full gsync the same as Gsync Ultimate?

I guess I'm not certain.  Probably hehe.  Mine is gsync compatible so it's decent but not like native or ultimate.  Oh my gosh I just looked and some of these monitors are 2K + USD.  No thanks!

I'd rather get a Pimax Crystal and upgrade my VR.

My monitor isn't fully native gsync but it is gsync compatible.  What I see, if the fps drops below the 144hz (fps) too much is a flickering screen. This mostly happens when I crank my settings too high in large cities with heavy addons hehe, AND while using TAA.  If I use DLSS I almost never have the flickering.

I've read if you don't have gsync compatible at all there's no way to get rid of the vsync tearing.  You basically need to invest about 350 USD in at least a compatible monitor.  Mine's a LG 27" 1440p (basically this:  https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL850-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07TD94TQF ) - I'd recommend a 32" 1440p if you can - the Windows desktop get's really small to my aging eyes at 27".

Cool, thanks. Sounds like I'll have to think about a move to GSynch some time in the future.

G-sync ultimate normally has HDR 1000, but full G-Sync and ultimate are both hardware based. It's just compatible you have to watch out for.

What monitor (monitors?) do you run with your new 4090?

I've pretty much decided to take no prisoners with my new build.

I have an LG-C1 TV with g-sync and I also have a full G-Sync ultragear widescreen. These were bough 1-2 years ago now so there are probably better ones than this available now.

Been looking at LG's.   LG has a C2 out now and the LG C3 is supposed to appear later this year.  They look really nice.

You're kidding, right?  9900K@5gHz, 3080Ti, all ultra, liquid smooth performance in the PMDG 738 into any airport anywhere any time of day.  You're struggling?  Something's gravely wrong then w/ that hardware or how you're setup.

Noel. Maybe we could get together in person one of these days. I am struggling with my rig and could potentially use some pointers.

For those of you with 4000 series cards - are you using ATX 3.0 PSUs? I have a 1000W PSU so it should be able to handle my 4090, but wondering if maybe voltage spikes could be behind the CTDs I've had since changing graphics cards?

I changed to 4090 with absolutely no issues as in CTD etc. Running on HX1000 PSU.

Same configuration here. With FG I typically hit 120-140fps in the cruise with the Fenix A320 and when landing in Inibuilds' EGLL I can generally stay above tha "magical" 60fps, using PSXT/Realtraffic with the AIG models.

Next step will be getting a G-sync Ultimate monitor, but I'm still extremely happy with the present setup.

Setting are almost all ULTRA with TLOD at 130.

Are you using 2k or 4k resolution?  TAA plus DLSS FG? at which mode? super, quality, balance? please tell me that. I'm with ROG 4K 144HZ  32 "monitor as main and Philips 2K 165HZ 24" as secondary. Do you cap the FPS?

Here are my settings using a 4K 60Hz, non-G-Sync, non-VRR TV as my primary display. All of the off-screen, Advanced Settings are Ultra.
