That still absolutely hammers the CPU and will cause stutters even on a 130900K. I have a 13600K/4080/3440x1440 with everything maxed out and TLOD set to 150 and I get 80-100 FPS on the ground at Verticalsim's KBOI with the Fenix and FSLTL. I'd say max everything and then mess with TLOD to see what works for you. 9800X3D | 5090 | 64GB DDR5 | LG C2 42"
December 21, 20223 yr Lol, go full Ultra. The only thing that might affect performance and cause some stutters is Terrain LOD. Just do everything Ultra and keep TLOD at like 150-200? Also cap your frames? Like 60 max. Edited December 21, 20223 yr by reignman40 ASUS Prime Z490-A / i7-10700K / RTX 4080 / G.SKILL Ripjaws 32GB / Lian-Li PC-O11 Dynamic case

Even if you have a 4090 in sli, you´ll have those stutters, I am sure is a fail of something from MS-Asobo servers side, while loading textures or who knows. You can watch when near ground how the Sim stutter badly while is loading the photogrammetry etc. despite my 600MB fibre. Go to London and enjoy the brutal stutter fest flying close to ground.

December 21, 20223 yr I think we briefly talked in the other thread but I'd go ULTRA for everything except set terrain LOD at 300 if outside of big cities or 200 in them. (object lod is fine at 200). Terrain LOD is the biggest CPU killer of a setting so if you load FSLTL live traffic and have tons of AI, with payware airports and Fenix A320 etc.... you might find you set the slider to 150 or something. As you've found out even with a powerful PC you probably cannot max everything if using addons. You might be able to but you won't get 30 fps at 4k in the heaviest of scenarios. I also dislike Motion Blur and Bloom so I disable those. Also with the 4090 don't forget to enable HAGS, set a max frame rate via Nvidia Control Panel (my monitor supports 144hz so I'm setting 143 because I read something on the internet about 1 less than the max refresh rate). Also enable Gsync if that's possible. I was having some flickering when I ran full screen and windowed so for now I've set full screen only. I use TAA anti aliasing for sharper glass cockpits but I just found out now in VR if I run DLSS it's a lot less shimmery and the fps are quite a bit higher (45 instead of 33-35!). In 2D I'd recommend TAA only. December 21, 20223 yr Goodness ! Its always the same. When I have almost convinced myself to give away my old jalopy to a good soul (my wife) and to buy a superduper computer, always comes a fellow simmer complaining that his new (superduper) box doesn’t run the sim as expected, almost worse than mine, ruining my newly built confidence in an acquisition ! 😆 Dominique Simming since 1981 - [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam
December 21, 20223 yr All settings are set for ultra, or highest available setting in that category. Objects LOD = 200/Terrain =300. DLSS- Quaility. Cars and boats are at 60. Performance over cities like New York are well into the 110 range, other areas less intensive like my home in Indiana are still a decent 140 to 160.
