It's not random and definitely not for no reason, we'd have a few thousand complaints otherwise. Sounds to me like a control deadzone issue, or controller noise. Inputs to the sidestick OR rudder will cause the autopilot to disconnect. Worth looking into. This does also track for the issue you mention afterward. An Airbus does not engage the AP if there is an input being held in. Aamir Thacker

Could you please expand on what you mean with this? It's extremely vague and makes it difficult to help or debug your issue. Aamir Thacker
January 9, 20233 yr I had an awful first hand experience as well with MSFS coming from a solid heavily modded FSX build back then when MSFS first released. It's back to the drawing boards with a new sim like MSFS, and it's very much worth it when you get things ironed out. I realized that when I deleted my 280+GB FSX build and never looked back nor felt anything of it. I rebooted the system started and flight at Prague and there it was, it all its glory. So how, after a 1.5hr flight from London, does it just disappear...and more importantly, how can I stop that happening again? Also, the random AIG insertion is just bizarre. When should I start AI traffic? As I start the sim or once a flight is loaded...? Its likely AIG that is causing your airport to disappear. There is a limit to the number of objects that MSFS can display, and when you exceed this, scenery starts to disappear. I have this happen several times. Seems to happen the most when using GSX Pro and AIG or FSLTL with high traffic settings. Try lowering the max number of AI planes and see if that helps. As for your Fenix issues with the wobbling and autopilot disconnecting, I don't have any of those issues, sounds like a over sensitive controller. If you use more then one controller, you can set up a profile in the settings to disable any controller not being used. As far as the Fenix not being realistic enough, well, I've watched a few you tube videos of real world A320 pilots that don't have an issue with it. If its good enough for them, its good enough for me. The same is true of the PMDG 737. If you keep Autotrim ON, the plane flies in a goofy way because it's not expecting outside help. January 9, 20233 yr If you could learn it and perfect it in just one weekend, it wouldn’t have that much to offer insofar as features, functionality, and settings to explore. Start slowly, or you will be overwhelmed. There are numerous articles on the tips and tricks section of the forum that explain using the cameras and the like. One that you should examine explains how to set up the mouse controls so that the mouse wheel will rotate knobs in cockpit view without activating the zoom. It will zoom only if you also press the right mouse button. Works like a charm! The best introduction to MSFS is to view some excellent tutorials on YouTube. For starters, I recommend the series of introductory tutorials by Squirrel. They helped me a lot a few months back when I was in your shoes. Rich

January 9, 20233 yr The only thing now that shocks me with MSFS compared with other sims are the awful traffic and ATC interactions, whether with AIG or FSTS or default, and the horrible night lights when viewed from altitude at a distance. A blurry yellow mush. I cannot comprehend how great this sim looks in the day and how awful it looks at night (from altitude). Apart from that, we are very spoiled, my X-Plane and P3D were deleted a long time ago.

January 9, 20233 yr Adding an AI airliner environment pushes MSFS beyond a maximum number of objects limit?? Does that not strike anyone as something that needs to be addressed pretty quickly? Does that not strike anyone as something that needs to be addressed pretty quickly? Agreed! As I said in another thread, this (apparent) maximum objects limit that isn’t hard to hit with AI traffic is poised to be the OOM of MSFS. Asobo seem to have introduced it a few months ago in an update and hopefully they can also remove it. James
