FSLTL Update

Is it possible to update just the Traffic Injector via this update?

Yes

@Zangoose @jarmstro @adino FSLTL uses MSFS default traffic systems just like AIG, so the runway will not be taken from real life but MSFS will decide it based on the winds. So you cannot know this before starting the flight.
You are probably mixing it up with real-time live traffic like that PSXT stuff, which does not use MSFS traffic at all but just projects "images" of the aircraft from real-time live data (a bit like VATSIM, with the real life traffic as the other "players"; though they of course do not see you since... well they are in a real plane).

EDIT:
To elaborate:

PSXT real-time: Delta 521 is at the following coordinates with the following speed, so we'll project it right there in MSFS and update every second...
FSLTL: There's a live Delta 521 flight between KORD and KIAD about to depart in 20 minutes [from the actual real time and date, regardless of simulator time] , so we'll create an appropriate AI traffic (with a random/not-real gate, position, taxi time etc.)
AIG: There's a flightplan with a Delta 521 flight between KORD and KIAD about to depart in 20 minutes [from the set simulator time/date] , so we'll create an appropriate AI traffic (with a random/not-real gate, position, taxi time etc.)

thnx for clarifying, and sorry for bring in the confusion, you are right I use PSXT nowadays more than FSLT and indeed mixed up the logic behind them.

No, not per second. The updates are internally calculated by PSXT 100 times per second, and at each new SIM frame the latest aircraft positions  (latitude, longitude, altitude, bank and pitch) are pushed in the Sim. Hence PSXT supports up to 100fps.

How do I install the update?

Thanks for the heads up.

I'm however having difficulties downloading the Base Models update. Already tried 3 or 4 times and it keeps on getting stuck, and each time at a different model 😕

Anyone else?

Did you get any error messages or would it simply stop progressing ?

No error message. It would eventually stall with % going static. I'm a fairly patient fellow and waited some 10~15min but no luck.

Thanks for all the great work the FBW Team is delivering, over and over again. It will never be said enough 😛

Great. I updated, didn't change a single setting, and voila!

No traffic.

Sabotage I tells ya.

I've currently got static aircraft at airports set to 10 and IFR set to 170. I see a LOT of static aircraft at airports but not a huge amount of movement. Should I look at increasing the IFR number and reducing the number of static?

Your hardware can handle that?  I have static set where you do, and IFR set to 14 and even that costs about 15% on my CPU.  I find it's just about right I see a few planes flying in and out of and taxiing around airports and that is good enough to give some immersion w/o impacting performance too much and is a way of reducing go-arounds which I rarely see anymore.

I have been running FSLTL Base Models for some time with pretty good results so today I installed the Traffic Injector (TI) for the first time.  It seems to work fine as far as aircraft presence goes, both moving and stationary,  However, I have a question on aircraft behavior.

As a TI newbie, I wanted to see the operation of the TI so I positioned myself some distance from the threshold of JFK/Runway 31L and watched (8) aircraft approach the runway's hold short point one after the other.  The aircraft were mostly mid-range jets with a couple of wide body aircraft all with JBU, AAL or DAL liveries.  The runway did not have any landing activity so my expectation was for all (8) aircraft to takeoff one after the other.  None of the (8) aircraft made it onto the runway.  All (8) vanished.

I know setting Blocked Aircraft Removal Time (it's set to 120) is supposed to remove aircraft which are "stuck" but in this case they should not have been stuck, at least not all (8).  Is it possible to change any of the other settings or even this setting to either avoid the above scenario or reduce the frequency of occurrence ?

Might want to have a read through the injector options section of the user guide: https://www.fslivetrafficliveries.com/user-guide/

Then have a peek at the Overview: Injector basics section in the support FAQ: https://www.fslivetrafficliveries.com/support-faq/

Keep in mind that FSLTL is using live data from FlightRadar24. If there is little traffic at the time (real) that you are flying, then you will not see much in-sim. Changing the sim time will have no effect.
