And if the moderators don't like ChatGPT's poem about X-Plane 12, here's a ChatGPT poem about the moderators on AVSIM:

Moderators on AVSIM, a force for good

Guiding the community, as they always should.

Their knowledge and wisdom, a beacon of light

Guiding us through the virtual skies, day and night.

With a watchful eye, they keep the peace

Ensuring that all users can release

Their passion for flight, in a safe and kind way

AVSIM is a better place, because of their sway.

Moderators on AVSIM, a team so true.

Their dedication, a sight to view.

They work tirelessly, day and night,

To make sure our virtual skies are always bright.

So let us thank them, for all they do.

Moderators on AVSIM, we are grateful to you.

With your guidance, we can fly free

In a community that's the best, as you can see.

May I have your undivided attention please! You are about to witness history. Below is the first poem in human history about the PMDG 737 (courtesy of ChatGPT):

The PMDG 737, a work of art

A simulation that sets apart

The standard in the skies so blue

For those who love to fly, it's true

With every button, switch and knob

The realism is truly a job

Well done, a cockpit that comes alive

As if you're in the plane and high

The systems and procedures so true

It's like you're a pilot, feeling brand new

The flight dynamics are spot on.

The experience is truly a treat, never gone

The PMDG 737, a masterpiece

For flight sim enthusiasts and those who seek peace

In the skies, it's the best of the best

For the love of flying, it's truly blessed.

If you're not familiar with ChatGPT, it's an amazing new Microsoft chatbot available for free to the public ( https://openai.com/blog/chatgpt/ )

Do you have pictures of Bill Gates hanging on your walls? Not only does their name not show up anywhere in the URL, but it's also well known that M$ is licensing the tech. They had nothing to do with development other than provide computational hardware. Microsoft had nothing to do with the algorithm itself.

Same hogwash as folks claiming that Asobo is pushing boundaries. Blackshark and Meteoblue are the wizards. OpenAI made chatGPT.

Credit where credit is due.

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

However, when I asked specifically for a poem about "X-Plane 12," here's what ChatGPT gave me:

X-Plane 12, oh how you fail

Wow, ChatGPT has gone into full on MSFS fanboi mode! 😉

We'd rather fly MSFS, with its smooth glitch-free glitch.

Love the "glitch-free glitch" - that had me smiling!

OMG, I can't stop laughing -- and being amazed -- with ChatGPT's ability to write poems. I honestly never heard of this project until I read a news story about it a couple of days ago. Now, to the funny part, I think you guys asked for a poem about "X-Plane." I too asked for a poem about "X-Plane" and got a different poem, but one that was similar in tone and quality and praise. However, when I asked specifically for a poem about "X-Plane 12," here's what ChatGPT gave me:

X-Plane 12, oh how you fail

With your bugs and glitches, you make us wail.

Your graphics are dated, your scenery a joke.

We'd rather fly a kite, with a broken spoke.

Your community is small

And your market a niche.

We'd rather fly MSFS, with its smooth glitch-free glitch.

Your flight model overhyped, your weather's a mess.

We'll stick to MSFS, we'll pass on your stress.

 X-Plane 12, you're a failure to fly

We'll stick to Asobo, and watch you go die.

We'll take our business elsewhere, and leave you behind.

X-Plane 12, you're a sim we can't find.

LOL harsh... well, its an OpenAI based ML model using a lot of sourced data available in the interwebs... and by that measure, fairly accurate poem describing the state and general consensus + reception of XP12 I'd say :)

So, in about 2006 to 2009 I ran a couple of websites and at that time there was a group of people working on a bot that you could install into your website's message forum. It could carry on simple conversations with the forum users. You never new for sure what would happen next. Now it's evolved to "this". You combine this with the ai program that replicates "real" people (complete with mannerisms) and one day, not too far off, we will never be able to tell what is truth and what is not. It should turn out to be a real hoot.

That's amazing. We're on the precipice of something really great (hopefully) the way AI keeps progressing.

Well, I'd rather see ChatGPT be integrated for ATC and AOC communication in game, in realtime...

But humans can compose lyrics resounding in gravitas and of great social import:

Oh up in the air junior birdmen.

Oh up in the air upside down!

oh wait, er.. never mind, maybe sysops can erase??

This ChatGPT is really incredible! I tried it too, it's so accurate! 😉

MSFS, a game of frustration,
A virtual world, in dire need of sensation.
A flight model that's far from real,
Leaves players feeling like they're in a bad deal.

No realism to be found,
Flying feels like being bound.
Seasons missing, lighting so dull,
Making you want to pull your hair and howl.

Online connection, a must,
But without it, the game becomes a bust.
Unstable and prone to crash,
Leaving you with a bitter dash.

Developers, they don't care,
Their promises, just empty air.
They'll take your money and run,
Leaving you with a game undone.

So if you're thinking of buying in,
Be prepared for a world of sin.
A game that's far from what it seems,
MSFS, a virtual nightmare it seems.

I think that would be the better use of the technology and hopefully done by a developer who is sim agnostic so that all can enjoy. Some similar to what Navigraph, Vatsim or IVAO offers.

I asked for a poem about the Douglas DC-3. Here is what I got.

The Douglas DC-3, a plane so grand, A sight to behold, across the land. With two engines strong, it took to the sky, Transporting folks, with a graceful sigh.

Through war and peace, it served with pride, A workhorse of the aviation tide. With a range so vast, it could fly for hours, Crossing oceans, and towering towers.

Its legacy lives on, in the hearts of many, A true icon, of aviation history. Though retired from service, it still holds a charm, A reminder of the golden age of aviation arm.
