January 27, 20233 yr I knew the unrealistic but convenient tailwheel steering 'feature' was being removed from the Spitfire, and was dreading it. However, I'm somewhat relieved, as I managed to taxi around Duxford quite easily. I see from the change log that they've reduced the rpm required to produce an effective prop wash over the rudder. Maybe that helps too. Strange you find the Hellcat easier, and how people's individual experiences differ. BTW I recommend their P-38 too, if you haven't got it. 🙂 Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

January 27, 20233 yr I love the P-38 😁 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
January 27, 20233 yr I'm looking forward to finding out about the 4-engined WW2 'heavy' that Flying Iron have under development. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
January 27, 20233 yr Rudder goes full right and when I try to compensate and adjust in the cockpit full left, it still full right and plane banks right dramatically, it is something mapped wrong in my controls?
January 27, 20233 yr I've not flown the spitfire anywhere near enough, so this gives me a good reason to jump back in. Here's a question, if I fly the spitfire on Vatsim will other players see me as a spitfire? I use AIG for model matching and I don't think one is included, so I guess no one has it meaning no? January 28, 20233 yr It took me 7 minutes to realise what this update brought to the Spitfire....Life. What was good, is now bloody good. 😃 The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

Once I figured out that the primer switch needs to first be unlocked with the left mouse button and then pumped with the right mouse button; and the starter and coil buttons have a hot spot in the middle that presses them simultaneously, it started right up.

January 28, 20233 yr Tried it... Well, what can I say... .) torque on roll feels overdone... Should translate a lot more to torque on yaw... .) ground handling feels a bit better, but still not to the level of IL2 or DCS, no way.... Feels pretty much cartoonish / arcade-ish to me, sorry 😞 .) inflight, there's probably due to the wrong incidence or dimensions of the tail surfaces, namely the elevator and HS, there is no need to use negative pitch trim settings, typical of the real Spitfires and even visibly apparent when you look at inflight photos or videos. This model actually requires a bit of "pitch up trim" 😕 Well, it's MFS... Other then that, the Art and the Scenery are simply amazing! Have they seriously hinted in any ways at an eventual WW2 Heavy? I would buy anything, be it a B17, a B24, a B29, or a Stirling. Ideally though, it would be a Lanc 😛 Cheers, 2Low2Slow

Scroll to the bottom, just below the development shots of the FW-190: https://flyingironsimulations.com/blogs/news/flyingiron-2022-end-of-year-report As they are focused, in MSFS at least, on WW2 aircraft, the assumption is that it will be an aircraft from that era. We'll have to wait for the official announcement, but I can't think of any that I wouldn't want to see in MSFS. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

Differential brake pressure can be achieved by pushing the rudder pedals while applying the brake lever. i answered -that's exactly what I have on the stick - so i/ll try that with steering pressure on the pedals - Thanks ! So now I have tried it and it works - setup the throttle axis on the t/master as the brakes - (No brakes on rudder pedals) control speed - by touching the brakes - and use the rudder pedals left and right to steer at the same time Needs some practice - but it does work - note one cannot use the brake on the stick as described by Winkle

January 30, 20233 yr One issue I noticed today while flying online over Duxford with a mate is that the livery of his updated Spit changed when we lost track of each other while working on formation flying. When we reestablished visual contact and reassembled our formation, his livery had changed. To me, it seems some developers aircraft have this issue while other do not. KBJC AMD 3900 / RTX 2060 Pro
