February 2, 20233 yr Why not look into the Maddog X if you want more workload and one of the most (if not) best "high Fidelity" aircraft in the sim? PMDG 737 is getting (and has been) boring from the 2000's in FSX and so is the less than a year old Fenix a320. Edited February 2, 20233 yr by jbdbow1970
February 2, 20233 yr I have the Fenix A320 and the PMDG 700/800. All are great, but I always seem to come back to the 737, and I use the 737's for the majority of my flying. The PMDG birds are fantastic, in my opinion. Cheers, Pete Pete Solov - Lake in the Hills 3CK and Schaumburg Regional 06CProud AOPA Member - PPL 2001Real World Piper Cherokee Pilot
February 2, 20233 yr My input to this is.... If you have the cash and time to enjoy both, purchase them both. If you HAVE to make a choice and care about performance, go with the 737. It is MUCH easier on frames, but this might only apply if you have an older system like mine. I love the Fenix but the frames hit hard on my system and flying the 737 is night and day. However they are both amazing aircraft for different reasons imo. Thomas Derbyshire

Also still no EFB its getting a little long in the tooth i feel Jason Richards

I would assume turning failures on for like 1 out of every 3 flights would fix that problem. It's one of those things I always tell myself I'll do someday, but conveniently never get around to. I would certainly be proud of myself if I had a complete engine failure at 100 FT AGL and I followed procedure to save the aircraft. Instead, recovering from my own mistakes seems to be entertaining enough.
February 2, 20233 yr In general, I more enjoy the actual flying of the Airbus than Boeing. But, as an addon, I must say that currently I use mostly PMDG. Besides the much much better performance, I also think its a more refined product at this time. I am also sure that Fenix will improve the product at some point... February 2, 20233 yr 737 because I am a Boeing guy I flew the FBW a lot when it first came out because it was the only quality airliner available, and airliners is what I fly. When the 737 became available, that's all I fly right now. I like flying with a yoke and I prefer Boeing's philosophy on the technical aspect. When PMDG comes out with the 777, I'm there. All my hardware is for Boeing, CDU, MCP, throttle quadrant, rudder pedals, yoke, and switches. Gnacino
February 2, 20233 yr I own both and use both. For the ones talking about the EFB we went years with no EFB in the planes, and it's not all that hard to program your fmc without an EFB with sim brief. Both planes are worth the cost for sure. I highly recommend you download simbrief panel from flightsim.to, I am not talking about sim brief downloader, sim brief panel is free and can be used in any aircraft to show all your weights and numbers to put into the fmc. https://flightsim.to/file/48336/simbrief-panel I also recommend Flow Essential from Orbx , There is a free version, Essential, and a Pro version. It replaces the tool bar at the top of the screen, and makes opening in flight items much quicker and easier. https://orbxdirect.com/product/p42-flow-essentials Happy flying
February 2, 20233 yr I prefer the A320, mostly because I’ve just always preferred flying Airbuses. That being said, I own both and really enjoy both, I like to switch aircraft types frequently or I get bored. February 2, 20233 yr Fenix A320 is at a different Level= Most beautiful !! I wish they would make NEO A321

It functions EXACTLY as the other three and it costs a mere 34.95 or so which is an unbeatable price for such a high quality addon. It's a great price, unless you want to have all 3 variants. Personally I'd go 700, because I don't fly the cattle truck.... 😜 Cargo and Bizjet though, love both equally.. G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron

February 3, 20233 yr Neither the A310 is a good mix of both and has an EFB! Edited February 3, 20233 yr by MikeH99
February 3, 20233 yr I find myself coming back to 737 more often than the Fenix. Personal preference but I like the looks and more workload in the cockpit. Also not needing an external app running in the background is a plus for me due to flying with too many side apps open(Navigraph, Simtoolkitpro, FSFO, SkyDolly to record replay during landing and OBS when recording videos for YT) Fenix app is heavy on the CPU though I haven't tried after switching to 5800X 3D from 5600X. I am pretty sure it will be better.
February 3, 20233 yr Both are great add-ons and there is no bad choice. I prefer the PMDG 737 but just because I prefer the 737 systems that are more old schools than the A320. We just miss an EFB in the 737 so integration of simbrief is easier in the Fenix A320 but the PMDG 737 EFB is planned. We also have many frequent updates for the PMDG 737 while the Fenix A320 is in a sort of hold lately. They had to release the IAE version but no news about it. I'm not sure we will see the A319 & A321 one day while you will be able to buy the complete 737 family with PMDG. Edited February 3, 20233 yr by sdirand
