February 25, 20233 yr After visiting some places I know from RL and from flying around in NZ, I am pretty underwhelmed, sorry. Many of the nice watermasks are just gone for example. Elevation was already great with the ORBX mesh, nothing new on this side and the NZA airports were also already available before. Add the still present snow coverage bug affecting huge areas of the NZ Alps and it is even slightly disappointing this WU. Photogrammetry cities are top notch at least. It is “compulsory” to keep it unless you want your ships consumed by spiderwebs. A bug Asobo needs to address as there are files in the Top Gun package that are core to the sim. Not sure about the files core to the sim bit, Ive never installed Top Gun package

It is a particular problem at NZWN because there are a lot of residential buildings quite close to runway 16 along State Highway1 and in the vicinity of the old control tower on the other side that are now melted with photogrammetry enabled - at least with Flightbeam's NZWN. This was not previously the case, now you have to turn off photogrammetry otherwise the immediate surrounds of NZWN are a melted mess. February 25, 20233 yr Turn it off? The Wellington area coverage is huge. Why would you turn it off, just because 400 meters around the airport look bad?
February 26, 20233 yr Because it looks so terrible when you fly into NZWN a lot as I do (in the sim and in real life) and it is a lot more than 400 metres and it was not an issue before the update! Bruce If they did to NZ what they did to Canada before it... you can try disabling PG Cities within the NZ WU12. For Vancouver and Toronto, that was unfortunately the only way.. February 27, 20233 yr Author It appears this thread has highlighted a much larger problem than just Milford Sound. Cleaning out the individual Community folder is good advice to avoid some of the conflicts. It, however, does not help the parking spots located in the runway area or the melted terrain. I am expecting some sort of fix any day now. Thanks for the various suggestions. Regards, Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
February 27, 20233 yr I'm wondering what they did learn from latest WU (Canada). Didn'd Jorg say in one of the latests twitch sessions that something like that (WU Canada) will not happen again? - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
February 27, 20233 yr I've turned off PG and flying into NZWN last night was fantastic. PG is a gimmick imo as the city looked spectacular compared to the blurry mess I had when it was turned on.
