Not surprising but still disappointing.

Friends don't let friends buy planes from Aerosoft.

The CRJ was and will continue to be my last purchase from Hans Hartman and the people at Aerosoft. Wish them the best of the luck though.

By the standards set at these forums, high praise indeed.

This statement:

would appear to be absolutely clear and not in the least bit ambiguous.

So if everything is clear and unambiguous, why has the P3D version also been pulled ?
I seriously doubt they are planning an upgrade of that version right now.

Given the (likely) imminent release of the A330, the timing is curious and likely caused by outside factors. I can't imagine before the release of a new airplane, pulling an airplane off the market is going to be a good look for selling the A330.

Maybe MS have got the license to it it now and are planning to gift it to us for free as one of this year’s surprises😍😍😍

I hope we can get something else for free if we made the terrible error of buying it from the Marketplace in the first place.

I really liked the Twin Otter in FSX and P3D, but while I've enjoyed the MSFS version, I agree it's maybe not quite so inspiring. Unusually for this forum, I actually do like Aerosoft, and Mathijs Kok. They produced some wonderful aircraft for the older sims, such as the Catalina and OV-10 Bronco, and I'm very interested about what they intend for the Twotter. Maybe they'll polish it up, purchase the Dash 7 model from PILOTS, and release both as a British Antarctic Survey package. One can but hope. 😉

That was a heck of a lot of fun in FSX.

The Catalina which had well modelled exteriors and cockpit, was, as I remember her years back, taking off like a fighter jet 😉 which was not exactly the sign of a good flight modelling.  I bought half -a-dozen aircraft with them over the years. The only one that I fondly remember for being really good, was the Do-27.

But it's true!  We we given a poor sound set at the beginning, and told it was good, there were things such as no trim animations and told they couldn't be done due to 'performance' issues, and as usual, MK was dismissive and rude.  I had to buy an extra sound set and use mods from of FS.to to get it up to scratch.  The excellent mods were later knobbed by Areosoft due to 'copyright' issues with the config file, an issue that no other developer seems to have . They actually reported the well respected modder to FS.to and had a strike down on his text file.  Not much trust for Aerosoft in my view, and I know quite a few feel the same.  That is just a fact, and it is simply a case of cause and effect.  I hope you can understand why.

I don't have the CRJ, so I can't comment personally, but some people think it isn't up to standard for the price paid - I know simmers are a difficult crowd though.

As for the future of the Twin Otter, as mentioned earlier, I think MS / Asobo have purchased it to be a Local Legend for the Oceania world update - it would fit.

All of this sounds familiar.

The CRJ was fun when it was released but as the years went on with minimal updates, dismissive attitudes etc I am kind of over it.

I am over developers that release and forget.

I mean, even Just Flight remembered their Arrow series and updated them. But they were always good.

Hans is just a one man show and he can only concentrate on one thing at a time. The last years he worked on the ATR for Microsoft which is to be released this month.

He said he will go back to fixing up the CRJ as soon as the workload of the ATR intial relase frees up time to do so.

Yes but... I would rather a developer release a supported project/product vs releasing several products that are not often supported. The ATR, just like the CRJ and Twin Otter, judging from previous experiences, will be largely ignored and some with glaring issues. Probably even for a time. Even the JF Arrows were updated but they still have issues.

FlySimWare does not have a big team but they really put a lot of work into their 414 and kept improving it.  Love that plane!

The developer of Pilot2ATC regularly updates and improves the app. Often, in fact.

PMDG regularly updates their 737 fleet as well. Even their DC6.

I feel like so many developers are releasing unfinished or unsupported products and makes me believe they are becoming cash grabs.

If you say anything on their forums, even legitimate complaints over their products not being updated etc you will get the inevitable "closed topic" phrase from one of their admins.

No thank you.

i doubt it, we had a Goose in the MP for ages before they released another for free, without getting in touch with us, at any point. Granted, its a vintage, so the licences are probably handled differently. Who knows! But yea, its sure is a weird move, would like to know where this is heading. I dont actually own the Twotter, but funnily enough, i added it on my "list of things to buy to fly if i ever get a minute for myself" a few days ago.

PS: Completely unrelated, but i saw a Twin Otter today doing paradrops, and it sounded like, during taxi, the pilot was using reverse thrust every 10-15 seconds as opposed to brakes. is that a thing? You could very clearly distinguish the Bvvvvvvvvvvvvv of the normal thrust as opposed to the BRAAAAAAAA of the reverse one. 😄

Yes, I have heard that before.  We had Brymon Twin Otters at my local airport many years ago.

I suppose it is an option for any reverse thrust aircraft really, or at least putting it feathered so is doesn't run away or have to keep using the brakes all the time, as maybe they need them cool in case of a rejected take of.
