April 18, 20233 yr I'll never buy an aircraft from Aerosoft again. Edited April 18, 20233 yr by Jeeeno

It don't need failures or circuit breakers just needs to fly well and be reliable on long hauls without babysitting it every 5 mins. In P3D, any drop below 18 FPS (no matter if as briefly as a micro second) would cause the aircraft to become erratic and fall out of the sky. There were also occassional issues with autopilot dropping out and failing to re-engage and TOGA.LK A-Floor kicking in after a bit of turbulence at cruise. Unlike the PMDG or QualityWings long-haul airliners, I couldn't trust Aerosoft's to give me an error free flight. If not I will just wait for PMDG 777 or FBW A380 and continue to use the A310 for 8-10 hrs flights. Would like to do a reliable 14+hr flight in MSFS one day. I can make it work on overnight flight, but it's the least stable one for it, compare to other option like PMDG777 and QW787 even CS767 I have once set a flight from Europe to Japan, after a sleep I ended up over Atlantic, not sure why on this case but I have seen it misses some waypoint that is close and zigzagy in some short flight when I were around. Also It only works if you can "keep constant 18+ fps" as they said, so when cursing, I plug in a USB disk, my PC freeze for like half a second, the AS330 suddenly got 20 degree bank and 10 degree nose down....
April 18, 20233 yr I've had their Airbus for a long time. I understand their will to make "an A to B aircraft" without all the features of a PMDG. The problem was that the Airbus wasn't able to do A to B operations either, as there was always something not working (LNAV, VNAV ecc...). I don't think the A330 will be any different. April 18, 20233 yr Never really enjoyed there A320 in P3D , parked it immediately when the FSL version came out , i will probably get it when it comes out as a stop gap until a more serious A330/A350 comes out ROG Crossair Hero X670e , 9900X, TUF 4090 , X4 NVME's. April 18, 20233 yr I, for one, am very excited for this plane. It'll be the first actual long haul plane in the sim. Just as they released the first airliner in the sim almost 2 years ago. I'm not expecting the plane to be able to handle V1 cuts or rapid D's. Honestly, I don't care...I'm not an airbus pilot. I'm looking forward to finally having a heavy jet in the sim. The CRJ left a lot to be desired, but it also covered a lot of bases. Until the 777 comes out, I'll happily leave my computer on all night to fly from EDDF to KJFK. Not only is it fun to wake up and land, it's also a great test of your hardware. I really enjoy long haul in flight sim as a stability test. If the guys from YourControls implement a profile for the A330, we can even do long haul flights with friends to share the load. It'll scratch the itch....ETOPS planning, contingency plans, performance management....it'll be great. Can't wait for this plane to release...At least we know that from Aerosoft, it's not going to be absolute sh*t and will be functional on a level that most of us will appreciate. The wide-body airliner is one of the most interesting projects currently in development for the simulator, despite some apprehension from a spectrum of simmers who have some doubts about the developer’s goals with the project. The level of depth and detail that will feature in the Aerosoft A330 is still to be determined, but it’s safe to say that it won’t be up to the high realism of the PMDG 737 or the Fenix A320. Mathijs Kok, Project Manager at Aerosoft, has continuously said that they aim to deliver the experience of an airline pilot’s day-to-day job, rather than simulating the aircraft itself. As a result, they focus more on daily procedures, like opening the flight deck door, rather than rare events like N1 spiking. “I simply have no idea what a ‘study level’ aircraft is. Honestly. No idea. I see it used a lot by marketing departments and YouTubers but I never see a real pilot calling any DLC ‘study level’.” He said this week in the company’s official forums. He added that even if they spent another three years on the A330, he would not call it ‘study level.’ Kok goes as far as advising those looking for a simulation of actual pilot training simulators to look elsewhere. This idea of "study level" being vague and undefined is nonsense IMO, and I suspect MK is just using it as a handy cop-out. Now the term itself might be a poor choice of words, but everyone knows that "study level", colloquially at least, means PMDG/FSLabs/Leonardo/Majestic treatment for tubliners, and A2A (and now Black Square and I believe, some JFofferings) for GA.
April 18, 20233 yr PMDG/FSLabs/Leonardo are high fidelity but there will never be a true study level ever in MSFS or XP12 for that you need a Level-D sim. MSFS and XP are games Jason Richards

April 18, 20233 yr I'll wait for the reviews, but from what I've seen, it looks very nice indeed. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
