News: Aerosoft’s A330 for MSFS nearing completion

My feeling is, that at Aerosoft they understand this kind of input as a Attack or as a try, to tackle their product.

Well with the CRJ, Hans Hartman was just "anti" any criticism or complain you give in the forums. Even trying to help, he will write a single post and directly close the thread with "believe this issue was solved blah blah". Aerosoft has grown more and more arrogant with MSFS release TBH. That is why I am seeing the release of A330 as "meh", I am perfectly happy with headwind (support OSS and moders!).

I really, really, really wish it was based off the FBW experimental for the VNAV stuff.

I had such a terrible experience on the Aerosoft forums following a problem with their CRJ that I just can't justify buying from them. They could release a PMDG level 787 for £20 and I'd still be reluctant to purchase.

No idea if this is common though. I may have caught them on a bad day..

Way back when, the Aerosoft forum was an enjoyable experience, very friendly with regular themed screenshot competitions for free downloads etc. Then, a notoriously offensive flight simmer arrived and virtually destroyed the place overnight with his venom and pomposity. Mathijs eventually booted him out, but waited far too long before doing so. The damage was done and all sense of community evaporated. Very sad.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

No this has been happening for years.

The said obnoxious individual who had been booted out of almost every FS forum, including Avsim, was routinely praised by Kok as a knowledgeable fellow when people were complaining of his insults. He had his use I suppose to keep customers reluctant to post😄. But, you are right, he harmed Aerosof’s reputation quite a bit.

I've seen this all to often in my professional life too, as a software engineer. One "high performer" is allowed to treat others as they see fit based on their high output. Sadly these toxic individuals can often be the downfall of otherwise decent companies.

I believe some individuals with particularly toxic personality traits dedicate a large portion of their lives to gaining niche technical expertise, as it allows them to express their venom and narcissistic tendencies all the while being protected or excused by managers.

My singular purpose as an engineering manager is to keep these snakes away from my teams!

A shame one managed to destroy what sounds like a decent community.

They did post an official "teaser" today, but were quick to clarify it is not a trailer.

Well this product was in P3D, can anyone here confirm that it will be any good?

Yup loved it in P3D was my main long hauler. Looking forward to this. Just ignore the complainers and the anti Aerosoft crew but they're probably still flying PMDG's unfinished 737 with the wonky VNAV. Oh and don't get me started in their forums.

If PMDG's VNAV is wonky, how do you call Aerosoft's VNAV?

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

PMDG VNAV is indeed wonky. Aerosoft VNAV is probably non existent.

It worked well in P3D.

I liked the aircraft in P3D except for the part where it would drop out of the sky if FPS dropped below a certain level.  That was a bit of a deal breaker.

There's lots of things people can complain about with PMDG's products but for me PMDG's VNAV is not one of them .. It just works.. Aerosofts reputation has been on display and ive seen it so ill make my own judgement call on this imminent release. and from what ive seen so far i personally have not seen anything to get very excited about. Waiting on some very detailed reviews and analysis of this bird before purchase.

As much as i yearn for an Airbus long hauler i suspect this iteration will not do it for me. but we will see.
