I’m sixty years old, I do remember being taught pride comes before a fall but I’m not sure pride in one’s country can necessarily be equated with support for a royal family. Anyway, I offer it as an observation. I’m sure the reasons are many and varied but almost certainly outside the scope of ‘hanger chat’.🙂 One thing’s for sure; the Queen is going to be one tough act to follow… Edited May 4, 20233 yr by DD_Arthur

Maybe Chas will do it in the style of Napoleon, who took the crown from the Pope's hands and placed it on his own head. "You ain't got no right to crown me, ye feckin' god-botherer." he is supposed to have said...but that may be apocryphal.

May 5, 20233 yr Apparently we will be asked to say... Quote Charles asks anyone watching to say: "I will pay true allegiance to your majesty and to your heirs and successors according to law. So help me God." I'm not anti-royal but I certainly wont be doing that. 🙄

Apparently, at the coronation of King George II, on 11 October 1727, the choir of Westminster Abbey sang Zadok the Priest in the wrong part of the service; they had earlier entirely forgotten to sing one anthem and another ended "in confusion". Even though there was some 10 or more flights from Lax regular flights thats he could of got. You can see why people just maybe might think him and his wife a tiny weeney bit unpopular.
