How about a Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet? A short flight but an exciting one!

Flying Iron are already doing the FW-190. It's their next release. 🙂

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Lancaster

Blenheim

He 111

Me 262

And outside this post of warbirds: a decent Do-27, the best one we ever had was the one from Digital Aviation for FS9. Man, I just loved it 🙂

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds

My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

Yes, but short because of the fast fuel burn or because it was quite a widowmaker?😶

Not a 'warbird' but somebody just go and make a bloody do27 please.

The Brewster Buffalo (F2A).

O what a sleek beauty!

Called by the RAF the "Beer Barrel" .

Military Pilots have never had any respect (the F35 is called "Fat Amy" ) .

I guess the Red Baron's WWI bird would be nice at this point but that's about it.🙃

The Fokker Dr. 1 in the "Flying Circus Vol I" combat flight sim is spot on with its flight modelling and visual fidelity.  Its engine precession effect takes a lot to get used to.  Mastering its flight properties (and its gunnery) yields the ultimate experience in WWI turn fighting (also does its rival, the Camel).  This is a sim, not an arcade game, supports VR and can be had on Steam right now for $20.

That's why it was 'exciting' 🙄

I'm determined that MSFS2020 will be the first simulator I've owned since Sierra's "Aces of the Pacific"  NOT to have a bloody P-51 in it! 😁

Well, I long to see the A2A P-51 civ back to my screen 😉...

Interesting thread anyway which will soon list all the WB which ever flew !   Many of those are historical icons but honestly, would you fly them more than a couple of times ?

My philosophy is to pick up aircraft which are a challenge to fly : temperamental, overpowered beasts, carrier-borne , etc.  If the aircraft is not after killing her own pilot, she is not worth to fly 😇
