I'm going to assume that apart from needing less storage/disk space, not much other differences in terms of cpu/gpu/memory requirements for client hardware between v2020 and v2024. The cpu/gpu processing might be more intensive given the new capabilities coming in v2024, but they're also aiming to improve performance/efficiency via multithreading, probably a fuller use of DX12, etc. And of course configurability will be ever present and updated for the new capabilities I'm sure, to tailor the experience for one's hardware. So I'm gonna guess no huge changes in cpu/gpu/memory requirements. Of course given thinner client, a good internet connection is even more important, but perhaps even there the requirements might not change significantly given efficient transfer of data between server and client as well as caching techniques?

Like seriously. Do you think things through before writing stuff like this ? Fine YOU can pay up to Three Hundred and Sixty dollars every year to MS, Great.. for the rest of us on a fixed income or have other more important expenses than blowing 360 dollars per annum  this is wholly unrealistic. 

Why would you even lessen your bargaining potential as the consumer by stating the amount your willing to pay upfront which is substantially above and beyond the present market rate? 😖

 

In any case this thread is pure speculation and considering this is an XBOX title unless the sim is rolled up into the present subscription service the standard answer that we know at present is NO.

Noel is the prime example of the type that the expression "more money than sense" was coined for.

These are the people that cant understand why everyone isn't as wealthy as them and their answer is to just "get a better job".  They live in a fantasy world.

I stated my agenda in crystal clarity:  go back and read about the evolved sim I described that I would pay for. Tell me, do you subscribe to any streaming services for entertainment?  Netflix?  Max? How about your mobile phone bill?  Internet?  Anything?  I see people coughing up $4000 for a new PC when the old PC would run the sim very well.  I would HAPPILY pay $360/year for the sim I described.  I don't see this as a bargaining issue at all--what I see is a small niche market with no guarantee of a future on a number of fronts.

So let's say the sim gets to the awesome level of completeness I outlined.   If MS came out and said you can continue to use the old MSFS 2020 which will remain in its current state largely, or move to the new 2024 tricked out as I described at a cost of $30/month, which would you do?  

I agree the thread is pure speculation.  I'm not speculating they will go to subscription basis, but have no qualms if they do provided the sim matures fully as described.

Agreed. It's like they don't know in many countries in the world the minimum monthly wage is $250 (or even less in countries like Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, etc). For them the world is UK and US.

Short answer to your question . No i do not have any entertainment subscriptions ( i don't even sub for cable).  If i have a sub i absolutely need it and it definitely is not monthly.

And no i would not pay 30 dollars a month to the scenario described above. No sorry absolutely not.

I'm glad you can afford it. However i would appreciate if you would be a little considerate that there are people not in your position to subscribe to a MS program at over 350 PER YEAR and from my point of view suggesting as such is a bit callous.

You'll be able to use MSFS 2020 unlimited it would appear.  My proposal was for a complete sim as described, and was for an Unlimited Use Premium Subscription, and I would pay $30/month for it.  Various tiers abound for all sorts of things in our economy and I see this as no different.   Some can afford a Tesla X Crossover, others an old bicycle.  It's that important to me, is all.  Somehow you managed to scrape up enough coin for a 5900X, Aus Strix B550 and 6800XT.

BTW, you and me are always on the same apologist page for MSFS.  I just like the sim enough to cough up $30/month if that's what it takes to keep it afloat.  Whereas you, apparently not.   And the others too apparently not, even those who go out and blow $4K on the latest hardware 🙃

Personally, i hope not. Its a reasonable question given other stuff where it is the model. I dont know iff server running costs complicates things, i dont get why.

I think i'm going to put you on ignore after this but just a bit of context here. Since your making assumptions for me.

I had to give up simming at FS9 .. Do you know why that is ? I don't think so .. let me tell you.  From the moment i purchased my first pc in college i have had to barter, buy and sell used pc components and added a little to the proceeds to afford the next step up. Why ? because i couldn't afford to buy outright a brand new PC. I managed to be happy with what i had ( a Core 2 Duo) for FS9 and then FSX came out. purchased it .. and i couldn't run it. Couldn't afford a better spec pc and had to give up simming. 

Enter MSFS2020 and with the lead time of the announcement to the release date was able to save money for OVER A YEAR to be able to afford a new PC for the sim. In the mean time i sat there using that old core ii duo PC from fs9 days up until Aug of 2020 when the final pc parts arrived. So no sir just because i have a decent system now does not mean i can afford a 30 dollar a month sub.

I refrained from liking or upvoting the rather harsh comments about you having more money than sense .. But with your irrational thinking and outright ignorance and callousness to the people you interact with on this forum i think i will leave it at "if the cap fits .... let them wear it. Because they deserve it.
