Is MSFS 2024 going to be a subscription model?

Just curious, would you quit if the sub fee was $10/month?

Would have to think about it. Would probably quit the Navigraph sub if I had to pay $10 for MSFS sub.

On another note, I guess the OP now understands why I told him he was opening a can of worms. This thread should have been closed after the first post.

Hey--please accept my apologies I didn't realize the potential for insensitivity in making my statement I would happily pay $30 to get that sim, even if it meant cutting back on some other cost center, because it's really my main hobby.  But I better appreciate now how that dollar amount is much less doable as they see it for themselves.  Your comment is interesting in that you have a Navigraph sub, which one?  The data only or with charts as well?  When I see that I can't help but think, well gee whiz we're balking at a subscription fee for the sim itself when we can afford Navigraph?  Sure, well some are on a super tight budget I understand.

Apologies accepted (if you aren't being sarcastic, not sure after reading the second part of your comment). Anyway, I'm not going to keep feeding this discussion, sorry.

Not even ChatGPT knows.  It may take the advanced compute power of Elon Musk's future AI Overlords to determine the riveting answer and bring closure to all this mental mastication (or we wait for release, maybe?)...

Ah yes, flight simming is truely a quantum energy source - even in the void where there is nothing, just serenity and calm, suddenly, a post is created and new Rage Particles come into existance. These Rage Particles multiply at an astonishing rate and experts think if we can harness this energy, realtime teleportation (Slewing - we already do this but don't tell them!) can be accomplished.

Not again. Who remembers the flare up before 2020 was released with people giving the guarantee that it would be a subscription based sim.

Unbelievable! This topic has nothing to do with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Hangar chat at best. Moderators must be doing lots of simming.

Nah, it's just not a VR topic.

Like seriously. Do you think things through before writing stuff like this ? Fine YOU can pay up to Three Hundred and Sixty dollars every year to MS, Great.. for the rest of us on a fixed income or have other more important expenses than blowing 360 dollars per annum  this is wholly unrealistic.

Why would you even lessen your bargaining potential as the consumer by stating the amount your willing to pay upfront which is substantially above and beyond the present market rate? 😖

In any case this thread is pure speculation and considering this is an XBOX title unless the sim is rolled up into the present subscription service the standard answer that we know at present is NO.

I'd be willing to pay $100/month...for freedom of speech.

MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Plus | Intel Core i9-10900K @ 5.3GHz | 64GB Corsair Vengeance | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 | 500 GB M.2 NVMe for win | 2TB M.2 NVMe for FS2024 | TrackIr v5 | Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo | Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog

Eric from EHAM, a flying Dutchman.

No, quite frankly I don't see a need for it. No sim from microsoft has had a subscription model, and there's no reason to have one now.

I’ve hesitated a little to ask the question, color me shy, but with the new subscription model that everybody talks about, will it be still a sim or just a game ?
