What I want them to do for 2024 is ensure that all default planes are taking full advantage of the CFD and improved flight physics. As far as i'm concerned, every default plane in 2020 should be using the CFD. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.

But the payware we have now are supposed to fly in FS24. This defeats the purpose. So why new default birds ? Because the vast, vast majority of users of MSFS have no interest in buying a payware aircraft at the outset, especially if a payware aircraft costs nearly 50% more than the base sim platform. The idea is to entice them to the franchise with a default aircraft they may like and generate a long-term interest in flight simming, just like most of us started out. Isn't that the reason Microsoft hired them in the first place which is what they specialize in? Edited September 6, 20232 yr by JBDB-MD80

September 6, 20232 yr I've always been an advocate of FEWER default airplanes. I think they get caught up in making x,y,z,ab,c, and it's too much. So I think 1 of each aircraft type, *but* coupled with complete SDK/systems source code and documentation for each: Piston single -- C172 Piston twin -- Baron (probably a T (turbo) variant so we have accurate turbocharging code) Helicopter -- Jet Ranger/H145 Modern Mil -- F/A18 or similar Bizjet -- Citation Airliner -- A320neo Amphib/flying boat -- Goose or Renegade or similar Airship -- Blimp of some sort Glider -- take your pick Biplane -- Stearman Turboprop -- TBM or similar have I forgotten anything? I figure this way, developers will have 1 of each general type of airplane/power plant/wing as a basic model. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
September 6, 20232 yr Since the question is asking about default and not current or future payware, I would like to see some classics like the 727 or L-1011. I left out the DC-10 & MD-11as there are freeware/payware version in works. Love the Tri-Jets of the past.
