I'm afraid this is something that cannot be fixed by a scenery developer. It's a shame this long standing most annoying bug of MSFS is affecting in particular some of the most beautiful places on earth.

Bruce I don't know if that's ever going to get a proper fix in the current sim. But a RW pilot did post some pretty nice weather presets for NZ over on flightsim.to. I haven't tried them all yet but what I've seen so far looks good. EDIT: I should have been clear that I didn't test these to see if snow coverage was changed. In my defence, I'm only on my first cup of coffee this morning lol. It has kept me from flying in beautiful regions like the Alps, Alaska and Norway for most of the time; it's a shame. But maybe it is time to give REX weather another go now.
