November 26, 20232 yr Yeah a lot of those types of vids are on the clickbaity side of things sometimes. Anyway, if Boeing does really re-work the 747 I wonder if it would have 2 engines. Also, I thought the 747-8 or whatever it's called was the redesigned 747, Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
November 26, 20232 yr Aw my all-time-favorite! The PMDG Queen of the Skies even had Chevrons back in the FSX days. Let´s hope PMDG also brings their 747 back. But with four engines please to go full retro.
November 26, 20232 yr Unless the global airline industry and passenger demand completely changed when no one was watching, that video is a load of clickbait BS, since Boeing has announced nothing of the sort, and in June, their CEO said of a new airplane; “[But] that would not lend itself to something at the high end of the seat capacity. That’s the best I can tell you. I know everyone would like me to stand up here and design the new airplane for you. That’s not going to happen.” The entire reason the 747 (and A380) went out of production was that the long haul airline business model has shifted away from large airplanes going from hub to hub (NY to London), to slightly smaller ones flying out of cities that might not be hubs (Nashville to London), and since the air cargo market (at least in the US) is getting hit pretty hard at the moment, there's absolutely zero reason Boeing would consider restarting the 747 line, let alone spending the billions of dollars a redesign of the airplane would cost.

November 26, 20232 yr There is already a Boeing 747 with 2 engines - it's called the 777. These videos are just clickbait for money. I highly doubt that Boeing would bring back the 747, and even if they did design a modified 2-engine aircraft based on the 747 they would likely use a different model number. This is why one has to be careful what they read and watch on the Internet -= there is a *lot* of BS out there. So if there's two click bait videos on the same topic they validate each other and aren't considered click bait. I get it. If this was a thing there would be actual data, information or releases from companies like... Boeing. I don't know we would be hearing about it from internet morons. Perhaps not as dramatic as a “clickbait video” the CEO offers insight to the Seattle Times. https://www.seattletimes.com/business/boeing-aerospace/boeing-ceo-calhoun-offers-hints-of-next-new-airplane/ -B
