You're a guest at forums. As a guest you dont set the rules. It's as simple as that.

Because you are used to a certain degree of freedom on Avsim doenst mean other forums use the same standards.

While I hear what you're saying, and in some respects I agree to a point, but at the end of the day, what's the point of having any forum, if you 're going to delete posts from people simply because they have a different opinion to yourself. It's an extension of our society which, in bigger terms, is cancelling people left right and centre, simply because they have a different viewpoint. It's becoming insidious and needs to stop.

The forum is owned and operated by MS so they're going to have strict protocols and censor a lot of stuff that this forum doesn't.

Right, it's a certain segment of the population that's hell bent on using freedom of speech and opinions to spread hate. I'd rather the MSFS forums stay as they are and not turn into the cesspool Twitter has become.

What did you actually say?

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I'm member of a forum that is aimed at target shooting. A somewhat controversial topic where I live.  Very strict laws. Compared to Avsim that forum is moderated with an iron fist. Of topic??  1 warning or topic closed. I had to get used to it but as a result forum member give very valuable and reliable help. YThis comparted to forums from countries that have very liberal laws, where member are without any knowledge give advice just because they have a room full of guns. Hardly ever is someone banned. That forum is users heaven, compared to what I often read here.

If you consider a pothole full of yaysayers and misleading customers with ridiculous tags (such as «bug logged») that only the naive ones accept, then yes. Users heaven for non-critic, everything accepting simpletons...

That's not misleading, if a bug is logged, that tag is added to the thread.

That doesn't mean it will be fixed, it just means it's been logged.

I've seen plenty of people criticize the sim on the official forums without issue.

It's just all in the language they use, don't be rude, don't call devs lazy etc. Use constructive criticism, don't just sayin "blank is broken!"

Tone policing is just another form of censorship.

A grumpy simmo (according to Jorg Neumann)

I get you don't like being told how you should be posting but on someone else's properly, they have the right to set those rules.

Yes as long as you STILL have the CONSUMER right to complain about such practices /policies to inform the non committed potential customer.

A major corporation aiming for global market domination whilst squashing dissent is something we all should be wary of.

I guess it's more a matter of good behaviour in the first place. 😉
