My CPU is old, a I7 990.,@ 4,5 Ghz, so I think that is my bottleneck - I tried DX12, HAGS and FG enabled, and didnt notice a really neat improvement, almost + 15% FPS, but with some strange flickering artifacts. So I went back to DX11, with DLSS Super Res./DLAA as before, and NV reflex low latency set at on+boost (I dont know what is it for) with almost the same FPS improvement but better image, as that allowed me to set Terrain LOD from 80 to 120 with almost not FPS penalty.

Time to upgrade, and you'll really see a massive jump if you were used to a 3060 and I7 990 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

May 18, 20242 yr Please need help!!! I use FS2020 in VR: HP Reverb G2. I had EVGA RTX 3080 TI 12GB video card, figured out my FS2020 settings the way i like, also using OpenXR. All the way i like. and in not busy airport i could get up to 40FPS, in busy up to 30. I just replaced video card with PNY RTX 4080 TI Super Verto Overclocked triple fan 16GB. I kept all settings the same and made sure they are the same. With new card i get exactly SAME FPS!!! Not even 1 more FPS - just same FPS!!! :( Why? I do not want to lower my setting to get more FPS because i can do same thing with my old EVGA RTX 3080 TI card and just return RTX 4080 TI Super. Seem like RTX 4080 TI Super is Garbage. My CPU is i5-13600kf, RAM DDR5 32GB, SSD drive, Windows 10. All drivers are up to date. If i can't get better FPS with RTX 4080 TI Super using same simple settings then what is the purpose in new card. I do not want to see if i get better FPS in standard 2D SF2020 mode because i believe will probably. I used 3D mark to test old card and then new card and i got more FPS with new card - but that was all 2D not VR. Thoughts?

As long you are CPU limited it doesn't matter what GPU you have, a better GPU can only give you higher graphics settings and resolution, not higher LOD, more AI and other CPU tasks. And the difference between 3080TI and 4080Ti is not night and day in MFSF I think if you don't use FG. May 18, 20242 yr I recently upgraded my CPU to a 5800x3d and have my original RTX 3080 Ti plus 32 GB ram. Planning to upgrade just the graphics card to a 5070 or 5070 Ti next year. Should provide a reasonable boost in performance and run quieter and use less power, and have the newest Nvidia tech for DLSS and frame gen etc. This machine will be good enough for a while, before I build a whole new monster PC down the road. http://youtube.com/c/Greazer

May 18, 20242 yr I'm soooo good with dx11...., VSync on and half refresh rate (30 fps in my case)... Never a sim with this level of scenery detail performed so well for me... OFC I turn off features such as fauna, cars on roads, ships and leisure boats,... Rather use that in favour of AI traffic like what I get from the espectacular FSHUD/ FSLTL combination... When you use FSHUD together with FSLTL the amount of traffic an FSLTL injects is actually set by FSHUD. Works great, specially for me who practically never used AI and ATC with this line of flight simulation.... In FSHUD set the source of traffic to "External" only. Then, FSHUD has a very active development and the updates come at good pace and with excellent progress!
