No matter if he refreshes it or not. edit: it finally updated after going to historical weather and back to real time He didn't understand that ASFS updates according to the update rate configured. That's what the setting is for, to allow you to configure this. It doesn't update until that timer expires. If you get a download 15 minutes ago, and you have it configured for 30 minutes, it will only update in 15 minutes from now. If you want quicker update rates, you can configure that. There was also apparently a bug that mis-synced the time, I think related to all the back and forth rapid switching and use of other tools at the same time, looking into it. Download Interval under General Options, is this correct? so not sure what you mean by a download of 15 mins and configured for 30 mins?

Passive Depiction Mode Passive mode is used with live weather and allows MSFS’s internal live weather depiction to take full control of weather depiction in the simulator, while Active Sky FS provides Active Air Effects and all other non-depiction features (mapping, planning, voice features, conditions report, web companion app, etc.) This can provide better regional variation and cloud variations outside of Preset control, recommended for LIVE WEATHER VFR and casual flights where visuals and effects are more important than weather conditions accuracy. Active Air Effects Provided in either depiction mode, Active Air Effects enhance your flight with turbulence, drafts and more: Clear air turbulence Internal MSFS turbulence compatibility (for combined ASFS-applied and internal MSFS-applied turbulence effects) Updrafts Downdrafts Microbursts Thunderstorm vicinity turbulence and draft effects Gusts, wind variation and gust-related turbulence Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

I think he means if the METAR changes after 15 minutes but the interval is set to 30 minutes, the in-game weather will only change after 30 minutes (when the intervall is due). April 18, 20242 yr I just completed a flight, and then Installed ActiveSky, and launched the flight at the same airport using Live Weather, , and the clouds are Fantastic!!!!!
April 18, 20242 yr Has anyone heard anything about AS compatibility with 3rd party software such as Pilot 2 ATC? Tom
April 18, 20242 yr Okay I think I'm going to just buy it! Even though I know it's JUST been released, what's in the pipeline / roadmap for the future of this product? AMD 5830X Nvidia RTX 3060 Win 11

Firstly we have some post-release bugs found, working on that to post an update very, very soon. From there, it's based on feedback! What do you want to see changed or added? If there's no METAR data available through NOAA, it will be using GFS global forecast data (incl. wind, temp, dew, clouds, precip, convective activity and snow depth) that we analyze to create a cloud and vis scene based on skew-t-type predictions, while some other conditions (like baro pressure) use interpolation methods from data that is available. The METAR text report in conditions screen shows much of these specifics. Edited April 18, 20242 yr by Damian Clark Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

April 18, 20242 yr Commercial Member @Damian Clark, Hi, flying on active Air Effects, and encountered a significant issue flying the plane starting pitching up to a stall when I entered a storm cloud around PHNL. The plane was pitching up despite command for down, and there was no way to stop the pitch up, it eventually stalled, with or without Autopilot engaged. I noticed something smaller when flying into another sort of cloud on takeoff, the plane was pitching up when the FD was actually commanding down with autopilot on. This was on our A330-900. I am posting this because I tried the same thing with default MSFS weather and did not encounter this. Edited April 18, 20242 yr by Ray Proudfoot Quoted post removed
