Short question - are the other transitions speeds also slowed down realative to that or is only the 50% setting affected? I have it set on 25% because I like slower transitions. Wondering if it will be too slow now and I should return back to 50% with the beta.

It's slowed for all slider settings so I do suggest bringing it back to 50 to try the new speed, and re-adjust after that.  Also, a tip for checking transitions is to use the Dev Mode teleport tool (which bypassing AS location checking/instant reload of wx).  Or any teleport tool that can change your location outside of the main UI new flight menu.

That's odd. From the YT streams testing AS sofar i haven't seen any.

Can you show something or tell me where to find example videos? (live weather obviously, no presets)

I'm willing to try this product if it really improves in that area. thanks!

I've looked at a few streams and haven't seen any long distance travel where you're more likely to see it.  I'll make a point to highlight this in our product screenshots and other upcoming media.  Thanks.

I would really like to see a place like Mumbai (VABB) where there is constantly low visibility and how does it look when living the METAR coverage area. Does the fog clears up or continue for miles and miles as in IRL.

Long time AS user here, can't remember how many versions I have purchased (always with a nice repeat customer discount I will add) so this was a no brainer for me.

Unfortunately I made the critical mistake yesterday of doing two things at once.  I purchased ASFS and immediately set everything up for my first flight.  Then I launched MSFS and got a mandatory update.  Sure enough the performance on my next flight was the worst I have seen.  I will have to try the same flight again with just MSFS live weather to try and lock down which of the two actions seems to have tanked my performance.  I will also check if MSFS changed any settings (which it can do with updates from time to time) but interested if anyone has noticed any performance issues with ASFS?

On an aside, I used the PMDG 737 and everything worked spectacularly together from an interaction perspective so now I need to lock down performance.

I am considering buying AS just for the historic weather. I fly in Norway a lot but the winters are long there and every now and then I'd like to do a summer flight while it is actually still snowing over there. Regular presets are boring imho so AS would be great for this.

However... I am beta testing BeyondATC and would love to keep on using it when flying through historic weather. @Damian Clark Could you tell me what is needed for another app to 'see' the historic weather that AS is generating? If I know that I could inform the dev of BATC and see if both apps could be made to work together.

Do we know what Version Number of //42 Flow is compatible with Active Sky as it appears that the current version on OrbX (v20204.13.3) is NOT

Hi Damian, I tried different values of transition speed and used the dev teleport function for testing as advised. Whatever the transition slider position, the cloud layers are replaced instantly after teleportation. (Beta 8874)

And you don’t know, if any of these other companies would do anything better. It‘s my humble opinion, but I have never seen a better and more immersive weather depiction in any other simulator.  Of course, I  miss a functional weather radar. As I see it, a weather radar only makes sense, when flying into bad weather leads to consequences for your flight.

My issue is they signed an exclusive weather contract with one company and as a result the weather api has to remain locked. So we will never know it appears

I've longed wondered if MSFS 2024 being a new product rather than an expansion to MSFS 2020 was a way for MSFS to get out of (or at least renegotiate) exclusive contracts that were tied to the life cycle of MSFS 2020.

Just checked and I have flow installed exactly with v20204.13.3 and its working without problems with AS. Perhaps something else on your side in addition? On my side for sure I had to deactivate some other product in Beta to get AS working.

Cheers T.

It should be possible to feed BeyondATC with the AS weather data. Right now it most likely just gets it from NOAA, but the technical stuff is identical. Another ATC tool (P2ATC) already works with AS (taking the AS weather data for ATC), it's incredibly simple to make it work. But it depends on the BATC devs, because they'll have to add that ability. It will depend on the sales of AS, I suppose.

Maybe it is correct for the few flights I've had so far, but ASFS is constantly injecting either Light (CAT) or Moderate (CAT) when looking at Debug window, from takeoff all the way up to FL380.  I've had to dial the Turbulence Effect Scale and FSRealistic turbulence settings down quite a bit to keep the plane from constantly bouncing.  I love that we now have realistic feeling turbulence but just want to make sure ASFS is behaving properly by constantly injecting CAT.  Currently at FL380 over Atlanta heading to KDFW and ASFS is injecting light to moderate CAT constantly.

What are your in sim turbulence settings?  I think Damian recommended low and it does say using realistic with ASFS will produce exactly what you described

In sim is set to low since I've always found realistic to be anything but that.

Common for all the streams I saw yesterday was that they had issues with the GUI. It kept disappearing from the toolbar and they had to restart the application to bring it back.
