Well, Norway is of course the most beautiful country in the world 😄 I might be a bit biased though. I had a VERY interesting test session and I'd love to hear people's opinions. I find that showing a video will give far much information on how ASFS is compared to MSFS than screenshots and test. First I'll quickly edit a comparison doing a landing in the default 172 in strong wind. I'm on SU15, so that should demonstrate the new ground handling implementation as well. Btw - does the default C172 have CFD implemented? I'm pretty sure it does, just not 100%. EDIT: ENSD - on of the most fun approaches in Norway - and not far from where I live 😉 Edited April 22, 20242 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

I have 610 flights now with A Pilots Life..

I just spent a few hours at ENSD practicing rnav circuits in the Lear from 26 to 26 then 80 to 08 as wind changed! I used historical weather yesterday for first link which lacked much snow for some reason hmmm Yesterday using historical (random time of day) (note DEFAULT ENSD here) MSFS FlySimware L35 Approach OrbX ENSD Today live weather: note (OrbX ENSD/ENSG here) Active Sky MSFS Live Weather 22/04/24 ENSD/ENSG Russell Gough SE London
April 22, 20242 yr My only criticism so far is regarding the turbulence effects. Although I recognize they are better than default effects, they are still far below what I expected. Intentionally flying a single-engine aircraft into bad weather, I expected very severe, almost uncontrollable turbulence. However, I only got light turbulence instead. All this with the turbulence, wind and windshear options in ASFS settings set to maximum. It appears that turbulence effects have been reduced due to compatibility issues with some aircraft. It also appears that ASFS currently doesn't have microburst/windshear effects, which can be verified either by testing the 'Microburst encounter' scenario or manually triggering a microburst or windshear in Debug option. You only get a windshear warning, but nothing happens.

If we are talking about convective sigmet or line of frontal thunderstorms - yes no single engine GA should mess around with that. But then some IMC with rain showers and high pressure should not be a biggie for single engine IFR. Not much turbulence should be expected there after all. April 22, 20242 yr Moderator A thought - this thread is getting very long and cumbersome. Since we're now into testing and comparisons, I suggest someone open a new thread with flight results etc and I can close this one. Thanx RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

I heard ATIS from an online source; was his complaint that ATIS did not match ASFS? How could it? They're both from different sources. There were so many apps running, it was really hard to tell what he was doing right. Before bashing ASFS, he should have taken the time to configure everything instead IMO. Don't blame ASFS for your mistakes lol. Most of these Youtubes are full of word not allowed. especially the ones that live stream and spend half the time buttering up to their viewers.
