How did they lie through their teeth? I’m not challenging you or saying they didn’t, just curious.

They were asked if they were the ones working on the beluga and said they were just as surprised by the 2024 announcement as the rest of us.

If it was said as you say, that's not lying. They didn't deny it, they just said that they were surprised by the announcement, which could be true as MS might not have told them. Just speculating here - those guys have often parsed words very carefully.

Why can’t they be surprised at the announcement while still working feverishly on developing it?  Announcement does not equal coding.  I think it’s more “Letting the cat out of the bag” kind of surprise.

I can understand some of the reasoning but I simply don't get it, I genuinely want to know what other game company has done this because I can't think of any, they're seemingly hedging their bets on people continuing to buy off the marketplace for years to come to warrant the need for two Sims back to back.

A simple explanation is that you neither own or operate a Software Behemoth.  They do and they seem to be doing very well right now.  Not everything in life is clear.  Accept that and move on and I’m saying this with all respect.

Yes and Thank You!  Mea Culpa and already corrected.

Thanks again,

Mine was the question on the tie popping / bleed through.  DX11 / DX12.

I was very pleased that the question was asked, and quite surprised actually, although I did phrase it very politely.

However, I was not so pleased with the answer... .

Firstly, they acknowledged the DX11 tile popping (Jorg even witnessed it himself) and they said they now believe they have fixed it... Probably!

One comment made was that they believe it wasn't a new problem, but they think it has been happening for some time.   Really?  No sheet sherlock!  This proves they do not read or understand the threads on their own official forum, going on for at least 18 months I reckon.  It feels like talking to a brick wall sometimes.

On the DX12 bleed through, answers given were such as, "well DX12 has a lot of bugs", and "it's a big world!"   They really didn't seem to understand the issue once again.

Credit to Jayne at this point.  She seemed to realise the question had been passed over once again, so she persisted, and along with the outcry on the live feed (with one person saying Jorg doesn't know what he is talking about, which seemed to rattle him a bit), they promised to look into it once again, with a separate thread being opened for the issue.

This is a disgrace. There are already threads and reports of this going back for some time with photos and videos of the problem making the issue quite clear.  Once again, do they actually read them?  There definitely seems to be a disconnect.

On a brighter note, I am delighted the Skyvan is being modelled as a local legend. It will sit alongside my SD330 / SD360. (Basically the same family of aircraft for those that don't know).  @Nemo will know - the skydiving version pictured in his avatar is being modelled.   I saw the exact plane in the flesh at Zell am See in Austria I believe.

But by doing that they're giving people the excuse not to spend £60 (example) on the new title, if the marketplace is the key then they're relying on people still buying off that for MSFS2020.

Then comes the time that MSFS2024 becomes so advanced that mods become backward incompatible because it's the new features, add to that things in the latest title that wont be in the previous (tornadoes the big weather selling point an example!).

I can understand some of the reasoning but I simply don't get it, I genuinely want to know what other game company has done this because I can't think of any, they're seemingly hedging their bets on people continuing to buy off the marketplace for years to come to warrant the need for two Sims back to back.

the current code (inherited from FSX) reached it maximum potential, can't be modified no more, they still have a lot to simulate (as requested by users, check wish list), for example and not limited to, balloons (hot air effects), space travel, seasons, water and sea/rivers/falls/dirt/mud effects, trains, and so on so forth, I won't be surprised if MSFS 2024 became a free update for current users, the goal is to keep market place pumping.

I highly doubt MSFS 2024 will be a "free update." We're all going to be paying if we want to use MSFS 2024. At most, I can see them giving a discount if you own the Deluxe or Premium versions of MSFS 2020, if you want to buy the corresponding Deluxe or Premium versions of MSFS 2024.

I would love it if MSFS 2024 were free.  But the whole point of them announcing MSFS 2024 in the first place is to get us go buy it. If MSFS 2024 were going to be free, they could have just rolled all these new changes in Sim Updates for MSFS 2020 users.

To be fair, we have gotten a lot of free stuff since MSFS 2020 was released - iniBuilds A320, iniBuilds A310, and all the other free planes, and the free World Updates, and stuff like Top Gun and Dune for free. But they got to pay for a lot of this stuff, and I don't think the Marketplace can pay for everything.  I am pretty certain that MSFS 2024 will not be free, as much as I would like it to be.

This is not only a disgrace, this is straight forward ridiculous now. Seriously, they should not only understand the issue by now, they should simply USE their own f* sim once themselves at the given locations and would instantly SEE the issue. I cant believe this behaviour regarding this bug, really...

you read to much into the free thing that I was using to clear my point of the importance of what going to be needed for future growth of market place which is the intended cash cow, and as you said, the updates to MSFS 2020 worth more than what we paid for the original release.

"What lightning in clear skies bug?"

Nothings changed in 4 years with their ignorance at times and yes that's what it is, ignorance towards obvious issues and massive threads with hundreds of reports not to mention the fact that if they played their own game they would see these issues.

It was Martials ignorance towards the biggest VR bug last Q&A and this month it's Jorgs turn over a bug that's clearly affecting a helluva lot more users.
