Yep, unsure why they can't seem to resolve this problem. They did implement faster speeds for AI entering the runway along with rolling takeoffs now, which should help slightly with incursions/go-arounds, but I still wished they would give us AFD guys the ability to move the runway start positions like we could do in all other sims - that would help immensely. Since it’s already implemented on Xbox, it should be “easy” to implement on PC (dynamic LOD). Anyone got problems controlling the Fenix on the ground? I’ve been on the beta for months, but after it went “live”, it requires a ton of rudder input and thrust - like ground friction somehow increased tremendously 🤷🏻♂️ Edited May 25, 20242 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

I thought that was odd as my understanding was also that only 3 aircraft had been updated. The power of auto suggestion is amazing. No doubt. The power of suggestion is very strong, especially amongst gamers/flight sim enthusiasts.😊
May 26, 20242 yr they might have done something with the OLOD settings, I seem to lose landing gear animation on AI aircraft a bit earlier... May 26, 20242 yr Author Spending more and more time with the Cirrus (the modded version is the better option now), those WT gauges seem to have a problem with this bird more than other aircraft that use them. Flying around looking forward in VR gives decent framerates but when you look off to the left down at the ground it's laggy (slight stuttering as you fly along). Basically, looking side to side at the ground you can see this. It cleans back up when looking forward. This is new to SU15. Another thing I can confirm that was mentioned here is the lines in the water. They seem to be more of a problem in SU15. Flying along the Florida coast around Palm Beach the problem really stands out.😌 FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
May 26, 20242 yr Further Observations; DX11 is performing worse than ever, huge drops in performance/FPS for no reason. *Could* be server load at the weekend/update period so willing to persist in the week to see if it improves (tried with no mods, same result). Alongside the above any AI Aircraft seem to hamper performance much more so than before, I used to love using the GAMod from Corsten but even on 1% Aircraft settings I notice a big drop in FPS, which in VR is unfortunately not good. Having tried a mix of that and FSLTL and the latter on it's own I've had to lower settings in FSLTL quite dramatically to maintain decent FPS - but then Point 1 above comes into play as well so it's a mess. DX11 Tile Loading bug remains alongside the "shadow" Tile Bug, thought they might've fixed this alongside the DX12 Tile issue but that's seemingly something completely different. I fly the C208B Caravan a lot and it may well be placebo but the ground handling on take off/landing is a lot easier than it was before, flown in some gusty winds but my understanding is that this wasn't one of the planes to get the improvement, maybe there was something else under the hood and not mentioned in the patch notes, dunno, either way it feels better on control than previous pre-SU15 flights last week. Gonna give DX12 a decent run, so far that seems to be more stable than DX11 now which is a complete reverse of how it used to run on my system. May 28, 20242 yr I'm starting to be convinced MESH resolution and ground texture quality have taken a significant hit in SU15. Coming into Jackson Hole a few minutes ago i was struck with how poor the Tetons look, even as one gets closer and I've done this flight many times. A very short time ago, pre SU15, I was so struck by image quality and ground texture quality and now? Really taken a turn for the worse at least in the areas I'm flying in now. This maybe doesn't capture it well enough but this is where I really started getting that feeling, and same flying into Denver the other day. The conspiracy theorist in me is starting to wonder if this is an attempt to make MSFS 2024 more appealing. May 29, 20242 yr By far my greatest annoyance is the fact that Microsoft has ZERO servers anywhere near my location. Meaning I pay what everyone else pays (and often more due to exchange rate fluctuations) and my download speeds are truly laughable. The fact that I have a 200 Mbps fibre line makes absolutely no difference to my download speeds (often 1 Mbps, last it timed out entirely during Short Skyvan purchase). Aaaaarrrrrgghhhhh! 🤯🤬 Edit: probably worth mentioning that my flight simulator PC is used ONLY for FS2020. The computer right next to it, where I am now – wired to the very same network – gets the advertised bandwidth. Go Microsoft ... 🙄 Edited May 29, 20242 yr by lupedelupe

May 29, 20242 yr Author After extensive troubleshooting of my video card settings the Cirrus/WT issue I mentioned above is no longer an issue for me. Basically updating my video card drivers to the latest version and using the Nvidia Console (basic config at that) to get the 2D graphics looking stellar and performing optimally as possible. This was an easy task as 2d graphics is never an issue on my system. From there going into OpenXR in VR and first adjusting resolution (Upscaling NIS/Resolution Sizing) at the most performance hungry area in my sim (freeware KFFC) to a point the scenery runs well. Then dialing back sharpness setting from the max of 40 to 27 to kill all the jaggedness of the HP Reverb G2 headset. Performance/visuals is now amazing both in 2D and VR.🍺 Not sure why SU15 affected things on my system to a point I had to get the latest drivers and then reconfigure/optimize my settings all over again but it was worth it. The result is SU15 performs better than SU14 ever did.👍 All that's left is hoping some freeware developer out there offers an alternative to the UFO strobe lights on AI aircraft introduced in SU15. That should be an easy third party fix.😉 So my verdict is SU15 is not that bad of an update.🙂 Edit: On a side note since once a gain this was not addressed in this update, maybe FS2024 will resolve live AI traffic to where the models/liveries match to what ATC is calling for (as I don't think this will ever get fixed in FS2020). That would be the best option versus the old school way of filling our hard drives up with third party models/liveries (FS Traffic, etc.). I may get back into Airliner flying at that point. However, in the back-end Asobo previously changed what amount of detail TLOD draws even though the value chosen remains the same in MSFS settings. There are threads scattered about which discuss this phenomenon. What was shown at TLOD 200 now requires TLOD 400 to get similar detail to what was there before. Put another way, TLOD 200 now is same level of detail that TLOD 100 previously used to give.
