PMDG 777 and its delay

Pmdg 737 is okay, however there is still a number of annoying issues which are NEVER getting addressed:

-Still no weather radar (other Devs figured it out)

They actually opted not to include WX radar because "it was not realistic" enough, which in my opinion BS because there are a tons of other "limitations" they could live with.

For goodness sakes will people just leave PMDG alone and let them do what they are good at (developing simulation planes) and just focus on your life and/or other planes Jeez. Let them finish the prod

Its the most pointless thing to have at this current time It gives us nothing accurate. If I remember correctly it can also impact FPS.

Who cares about one or two FPS less in 2024, when every cheap 300 bucks graphics card has 10 Teraflops upwards 😉

It caused a substantial fps loss If I remember with the FBW and partly why PMDG chose not to. Don't forget not everyone has a decent card even users with decent graphics cards still have problems.

It's not pointless and doesn't affect fps at all. WX radar has it's imitations, but so is PMDG LNAV LOL So lets just get rid of it all together!

You are referring to "terrain radar" which is not really a "radar", but in any case it causes fps drop.

It definitely does unless you are saying FBW were lying.

No Weather RadarThis is due to performance issues related to the default Asobo WX systems and implementing a custom ND in our aircraft. The team is currently waiting on a weather API to be implemented to make a radar that is as realistic as possible.
I am not referring to terrain at all I am referring to weather which we all know is pointless in its current state.

I have a potato computer with an rtx2070. The weather radar has no impact on frames in either the 787 or the MD80.

We now know the 777 will have WXR and hopefully this will be one of the improvements brought over to the 737 series.

Those who find it useless will no doubt be able to switch it off…

OK but this certainly  not the case with PMDG that uses WASM API for weather radar which also works in Leonardo MD without any fps drop

That is cool. Love a lack of weather radar which doesn't do justice still.

Before ADS-B, Sirius XM and other cool services, I used to fly with storm scope. It's no weather radar but still better than nothing! And before TIS-B traffic  I use to fly with portable device that read mode C and just flashed with traffic was near, it still was better than nothing! LOL

I see your point and i agree something is better than nothing but the overall problem for me nowadays is the the effects of severe wx (apart from visibility and meeting landing minimums) has been so badly nerfed that it doesn't matter if you fly straight through the thunderstorms where as before shortly after the sim was released i remember making the mistake of flying through a Cumulonimbus cloud and that FBW A320 i was flying rocked and rolled so badly i was terrified the AC would fall out the sky.

The radar is nice to look at but to me is pointless if you can fly through the red spots without consequence. I am not opposed for it to be included but the utility is lost for me at the moment.

Maybe you should apply at PMDG as Chief Software Architect.
