  • This is not my usual type of plane to fly but I might get it just because of all the fun MicroProse gave me going back to the 80s!

  • Wow! Who remember this?

  • F117 was F19 v2. What happened was that there were all sorts of rumors running around about the Stealth Fighter long before it was declassified. A bunch of supposedly in-the-know outfits decided

Guybrush Threep vs. Moraine Bullets.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

My first flight sim was the SubLogic one. First combat sim was probably F15 Strike Eagle. We complain today if we don't get 60fps. That game was a slideshow by design. I'd guess it maxed out at 5fps or so on my Apple IIgs, and only if there weren't any enemy planes in the area.

Just to fly it won't mean much.

Simulated bomb runs would make it worthwhile, otherwise it's probably a pass for me.

I agree. Remember this title you could shoot at intercepting fighters and take damage from them. Also bomb targets. Question is it even possible to implement this in MSFS ? If flying the plane is the only thing then it is a pointless product

Disagree....  Considering there are less than 10 airworthy airframes left in the world out of over 13,000 produced "any" chance to fly it even virtually is something special to some people, myself included...

Actually if we want to fly a virtaul B17 we can already do so. We have the A2A B17 for P3D. Also if looking at the future I see in my Steam wishlist that a separate Microprose The mighty eight VR is coming. Also listed is B-17 Flying Fortress The Bloody 100th to be coming soon. What could a MSFS version offer that we don't get with these options ?

F15 Strike Eagle and F117a for the Amiga.

My first flight sims. I can remember coming home from the bar somewhat tipsy and thinking it was a good idea to do a night time carrier mission with the stealth plane. The sun was coming up outside when I finally put that polygon plane down on the deck. It was like finding a black cat in a coal cellar during a power outage but that HUD...

From then I was addicted to simming.

F15 Strike Eagle was my first poison. Followed by Falcon.

Strange that I never got into DCS. Too hardcore for my tastes. Especially because you have to learn stuff that was new in th 80's. Military hardware is so hopelessly outdated when it comes to interfacing with the computers.

The ability to fly it in MSFS?  Not going back to P3D to fly the B-17 or looking for another game on steam...

I played silent service as well!

Outstanding news, finally!

Has anyone seen the strobing / flickery textures on the props in the recent demo video?  Appalling.  Looked like from an old sim like FS2004, or worse even.

I know it is early access, but what guarantee would we have that these will be attended to?

Is it only Carenado and a few others that seem to know how to do decent realistic looking prop disks in MSFS?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

So it takes them over a year since first announcement and then they go for early access again. This is really a plague.

Releasing unfinished software because you run out of money...
